Getting Started at Songwriting (and Finishing Them Too!)
From 74.38 C$ /h
Songwriting is equal parts inspiration and craftmanship. In this class you will learn techniques and skills for developing ideas into songs. The class covers song structure, creating memorable melodies, how to find ideas that can be the basis for songs, and tips and tricks to not only start songs but finish them as well.
The focus of the class to offer students concrete and actionable techniques to assist them in writing songs. The class is tailored to the students individual needs.
Students do not need to know how to play an instrument nor do they need to be singers (although both are helpful).

About Me
I am a musician, songwriter, engineer, and studio owner in WA state. I love teaching music and see teaching as a way of giving back to the community. I see myself more of a coach than a professor. I like a wide variety of music and am interested in creating a non judgmental environment where people of of all ages can learn the things they need in order to "level up" their skills.
Education
I graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston with a Bachelors of Music degree with a Major in Film Scoring. My principal instruments there were guitar and bass.
Experience / Qualifications
I have had songs placed in film and TV and played in many bands over the years. I work with songwriters in my studio to record their songs as well as help with arrangements and instrumentation. My goal is to bring out their songs in ways that present well, sound original, and are authentically tied to the writers and performers
