About Me
Do we introduce ourselves? =)

My name is Sonia and I am an Artist: Pianist - Actress - Teacher - Content creator and sometimes Director.

My name is Sonia. I have a degree in Piano specialty from CSM Rafael Orozco de Córdoba and "Faculty of music Debrecen" from Hungary. I have a Master's degree in interpreting this same specialty from the Liceo de Barcelona. After finishing my piano studies I began to train in singing with the tenor Fernando Bañó in Barcelona, besides specializing in a repertorist pianist of lyric singers. And in Dramatic Art in different schools in Barcelona and Madrid, expanding my knowledge between theater, cinema and TV.

After living in different cities and meeting people from different parts of the world, I decided it was time that the place was not an impediment to connect with students from any part of the world. This way I started teaching piano online! :)

I have been working as a teacher for more than 6 years both in music schools and conservatories and in private classes between: Andalusia, Barcelona, Madrid and Scotland (where I currently reside). In addition, I have worked with blind children through ONCE.

I teach piano, music and music, choir, body percussion, music and movement, analysis, musical initiation, stretching, body, coaching, advice ...

I have always thought that age is not an impediment to learn an art, only your desire and motivation matter!

I think that each person is different and each age too, so I adapt to each student and their needs. You set your goals for me and I help you to reach them. Each ARTIST is unique! And I think it is a mistake to try to teach everyone the same way. What is going well for your friend just like you bores you and vice versa. It is best to find our own path and learn about it.

I try to make the classes enjoyable and fun, and especially that in each of them you feel that you are learning.

At the same time that I am in teaching, my other part of the work is dedicated to the artistic world where I work as a pianist, accompanying pianist, actress and director.

Currently I am dedicated to discovering other forms of artistic expression while traveling the world teaching my favorite art, music.
Through my ONLINE classes and social networks I share and create content about art, music and piano, while I accompany new artists to discover and train in this wonderful instrument.

Do we make music? =)

Welcome to my online Piano Class.
I am Maria, and I will happily help you achieve your musical goals, from zero to the top.
I love all student levels, but only towards the CLASSICAL piano, of any eras' works and composers.
Don't be afraid, my lesson is human-friendly 😊
Everything goes step by step! Outside the lesson time, I send you lots of short videos to support your practice through the week.

As each student is different, I focus on each ones' needs and I am always creative in helping you learn through the simplest ways - "if it's easy, it's correct", that's my motto!
My greatest happiness is to watch my students grow, overcome any limit and expand in full potential!

As a result, many of my students have won top prizes at major international competitions, as the IBLA Grand Prize, the Spoleto International Piano Competition, the Bach au Jazz (Lilia Boyadjieva) International Piano Competition and many others. And also, at renown online competitions, as The Royal, the IYMC, the Forte Academy, and many-many others.
So, in case you need a competition or exam preparation, here you are at the right place!
I will help you discover the advanced piano technique, and the ways to achieve your best musical interpretation. Also, very important, I'll help you understand and approach each composers' unique style, and, also, secure your concert / stage presence, with simple and effective solutions for memorisation and control.

I am a very proud piano teacher, as on Jan 11 2026 four young students of mine were awarded by the renown American Competition "The Royal Foundation" and were invited and performed at a Gala at the Carnegie Hall in New York City! Also, these kids were invited to participate to the Juilliard School festival, with masterclass and lessons, a fabulous chance and experience that I wish all young pianists could have!

On Sept 1st 2024 three awarded students of mine were invited to perform at The DiMenna Classical Centre of Music in Manhattan, from another American competition, the International Youth Music Competition.

I wish I can always bring such great opportunities and successes to all of my "piano kids"!

About me

I help students start playing real music early—often within the first few lessons.

I’m a professional pianist with 12+ years of teaching experience and over 7 years of international performing (Switzerland, Austria, Iceland, Spain, and worldwide on luxury cruise ships).

Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning after a break, I tailor each lesson to your goals so you can progress efficiently and enjoy the process.

I started piano at age 6 and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Piano Performance. I’ve also taken part in many masterclasses and studied with outstanding pianists. My background includes classical, jazz, blues, pop, rock, and chord-based playing.

I’m passionate about teaching and focused on helping you reach your goals in a clear, supportive, and enjoyable way.

About the Lesson

I am a patient and dedicated piano teacher, working with students of all ages and levels. Every lesson is tailored to your goals, learning style, and musical interests.

I teach a wide range of styles, from classical to modern music (jazz, blues, pop, etc.).

I can teach you reading sheet music or playing by ear, depending on your preference and goals. I can also help you improvise and create your own music in the styles you enjoy.

I also have strong experience working with students with ADHD and dyslexia, adapting lessons to make learning clear, structured, and engaging.

I focus on healthy technique, musicality, and effective practice habits to build confidence and avoid tension or injury. I also help students develop a technique that prevents common issues such as tendonitis, which is very important for long-term playing. You’ll also receive support outside lessons, including answers, feedback, and video explanations when needed.

I prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity exams (Grades 1–8 and Diplomas), but I also teach students who simply want to enjoy playing. My students range from age 3 to 75+, and all make meaningful progress.

Online lessons are just as effective as in-person ones. I use a professional multi-camera setup and high-quality audio so you can clearly see technique and movement. Most of my lessons (95%+) are taught online.

Curriculum

There is no single method that fits everyone, so I adapt all materials to you.

For beginners, I often use Alfred’s Basic Piano Library. For classical and jazz development, I work with ABRSM and Trinity syllabi. I’m always happy to use other methods if you prefer.

Alongside structured materials, I include music you enjoy and focus on essential skills that apply across all styles—from classical to modern music.

REVIEWS from students:

(5/5) Pascale from France | In-Person Lessons

Gabriel’s teaching style is really impressive, the flow and the content of every lessons are very good and he has 4 CAMERAS that shows his face, keyboard and his view on a sideways so any student can visualize the proper posture and a clear view of the movement of his arms and fingers as he teach. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age.

I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

➤ From NVC (Non-Violent Communication) through the pragmatic tools of empathy and emotional intelligence. From personal to professional. From theory to practice with simulations. It is about putting in place rational tools to defuse conflicts and enter your comfort / security zone. In particular, simple techniques which make it possible to improve intimate, personal and professional relationships, or even to resolve and manage violent situations in a harmonious, effective and lasting way.

➤ Indeed, the objective is to improve personal / professional communication & overcome any resulting conflicts. So how do you get a clear message across and make a difference?

➤ More precisely, the objectives are to:
0. Understand and identify the issues / risks then find a balance between empathy and conviction
1. Use interpersonal communication techniques resulting from mediation to defuse tensions and gain distance
2. Dissociate the relational and the nature of the disagreement - Overcome cognitive and psychological obstacles
3. Acquire the techniques of self-defense and mastery without hurting and being injured
4. Face and then defuse difficult behaviors (blackmail attempts, threats, destabilization) or even dangerous with a mediation strategy
5. Develop conflict management and negotiation skills, alternating attentive listening, active speaking and rationality in the face of the limited rationality of the angry individual.

➤ Whether your objective is personal or professional, defusing conflicts, negotiating and speaking relevant and successful must always be effective and efficient, with clear, simple and powerful messages, creating an adequacy between the message received and the message sent. Consistency between form and substance.

➤ So, how to listen and be listened to, convince and be impactful, challenge and mark the spirits, enhance its content, address its audience effectively and optimize the quality & clarity of the exchange / message? It is precisely a question of going through, applying and deploying practical and effective techniques of verbal and non-verbal communication.

➤ Thus, mastered, the practical method allows, through a set of simulations and scenarios based on your daily experience supporting pragmatic & concrete techniques, to improve self-confidence, self-confidence, but also to work on one's leadership & charisma.

➤ So, after having precisely defined your objective & gone through the blockages encountered, here are some examples of themes covered through concrete techniques & a methodology:
✓Tools and deployment of conflict management tools, including NVC
✓ Perfecting your rhetoric / repartee
✓Body Language fundamentals to support and not interfere with speech while showing conviction & convincing, thus ensuring consistency between content & form
✓Techniques to put the interlocutor at ease and appear friendly / interested
✓To succeed in negotiation / mediation
✓To learn to say 'no' in three steps AND get them to say 'yes'
✓To turn sentences into positive AND constructive
✓To put NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) at the service of non-violent communication
✓To adopt an effective, simple language, just by engaging
✓To use sentences, turns & expressions to be precise, simple, effective & challenge
(...)

➤ In short, each session combines techniques & practice exercises adapted to your everyday situations (filmed with your agreement in order to be reviewed, commented on, decoded together live), so that you can put them into practice immediately, this from the 1st session.

Fully online piano assessment and focused follow-up lessons in English for serious students who want a clear professional view of their current level, their main technical-musical bottleneck and the next practical steps.

This is not a casual lesson. It is a structured professional assessment for students who practise regularly but do not fully understand why their playing still does not sound free, stable, expressive or convincing.

I am a Russian-trained concert pianist and piano educator with more than 20 years of teaching experience, international performance background, recordings, masterclasses and academic-level teaching experience.

I teach piano as an integrated system: sound, movement, rhythm, phrasing, memory, musical understanding and intelligent practice.

During the assessment, I look at the student’s playing as a complete musical and technical system:

— sound and tone quality
— body coordination and technical freedom
— rhythm, pulse and inner stability
— phrasing and musical direction
— articulation and dynamics
— reading and understanding the score
— voice balance, harmony, form and musical logic
— memory and reliability
— practice method and self-checking skills

After the session, the student receives a written summary with the main observations, the central bottleneck and a concrete practice plan for the next stage of work.

Possible formats:

1. Piano Assessment / Piano Reset
60 minutes online + written summary with a concrete practice plan

2. Piano Assessment + 4 focused follow-up lessons
After the assessment, we can continue with 4 online lessons focused on improving the main bottleneck: reading, rhythm, sound, movement, phrasing, memory or practice strategy.

Format: assessment session + 4 focused online lessons

This format can be especially useful during the summer break, before the new school year, before an exam, recording or performance, after a long break from piano, or when the student feels that regular practice is not bringing the expected progress.

The goal is not simply to add more pieces or more practice time. The goal is to understand what exactly is blocking progress and to build a clearer, more effective way of working.

Please write to me with a short description of the student’s age, level, current repertoire and what feels most difficult at the moment.

I graduated in piano from the University of Aveiro (in the class of Álvaro Teixeira Lopes) and I will soon begin my master's degree in performance at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (with Aleksandar Madžar), while also taking courses with Olivier Gardon.

Throughout my career, I have won prizes at international competitions in Portugal, Italy, and Austria, and I was also a finalist in Spain. As a pianist, I have had the opportunity to perform on stage in Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, and Austria.

I am constantly seeking to improve myself, which has led me to participate in masterclasses and take courses with renowned professors, such as Ricardo Castro, Mamiko Suda, Giuseppe Andaloro, Vagharshak Aratunyan, Josep Colom, among many others.

I have had the great opportunity to give piano lessons and lead masterclasses, and in recent years, to share my experience and perspective with students of all ages and from diverse backgrounds.
My courses are suitable for students of all levels and ages. The program is tailored to your needs:

Curious and beginners: are you embarking on learning the piano? We will progress in a relaxed atmosphere and discover the instrument at your own pace.

For advanced students: ideal for resuming your studies, improving your technique, delving deeper into your favorite repertoire, or preparing for exams! The method is designed 100% for you!
