First lesson:
My lessons are personally tailored for beginner adult students up to the age of 80.
I make sure to make an individual plan for every student, according to his or her age, goals, abilities and musical taste. In my online piano lessons, you can learn in a fun and effective way the basics of reading music no matter if you would like to play Bach or Einaudi. It is important for me that from the very beginning my students develop a good relationship to their instrument and enjoy discovering their own possibilities.
In between the lessons I will provide short videos for making your practising at home as effective and enjoyable as possible.
Beginners - Adults
I have a lot of experience in teaching piano to adult beginners up to the age of 80. I make sure to tailor my lessons to the needs and wishes of the student in a safe and positive environment. In the first lesson, it is important for me to get to know each other and find out together what the best approach would be to begin our lessons.
One should expect to buy educational materials for the lessons.
My lessons are possible in English, German or Russian.

About Me
Dear student,
My name is Sofia I am a classical pianist and singer based in the UK and for over 15 years I have taught enthusiastic students both online and in-person. I enjoy enabling people to discover their talents and cultivate their abilities to become better players.
I have extensive experience teaching individuals of any age and I am particularly passionate about adult education. I can adapt my lessons to suit different levels from beginners to advanced and know exactly how to support adult learners who would like to explore the are of piano playing for the first time.
My experience includes working as self-employed as well as for various employers such as the International Boarding School in Switzerland. As a graduate from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (MMus), the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (MMus Pedagogy) and the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media (Diploma in Piano & Music Education), I have wide-ranging experience working with individuals and solo performers as well as with small groups. For those keen on passing their ABRSM exams or preparing for community performances, I can coach and make sure you are adequately prepared to play with confidence. Being an active performer myself with a lot of experience on stage, I can especially help with performance skills such as stage presence, storytelling, and stage fright.
Due to my extensive musical education, I have an excellent knowledge of various styles, repertoire, and languages. My ability to combine piano, singing and music theory lessons is a major advantage for students keen on learning either or all of them. As every student is unique, I aim to personalise my lessons based on each student’s personality, ability and aspirations. I will also monitor progress in an encouraging way so you reach your goals and have numerous exercises to improve your technique. I have professional technical equipment for online teaching that creates a dynamic and enjoyable learning experience.
When you choose me as your teacher, you have the confidence that I will motivate you to improve your technique and musicality in a safe and positive environment.
