About Me

Hi, I’m Alejandro, a professional musician and music instructor.

I started playing guitar when I was 11 years old and studied music in my home country. After graduating, I began working on cruise ships, where I led my own band and had the opportunity to perform with musicians and entertainers from all over the world.

As a teacher, I like to use the music you love as inspiration, so practicing feels motivating and enjoyable. This way, you learn chords, scales, technique, and music theory while applying everything directly to the songs and styles you enjoy.

Education

I graduated from the ISMP (Instituto Superior de Música Popular) in Buenos Aires.

A few months after completing my studies, I was invited to join a band on a Celebrity Cruises ship. Later, I became the leader of my own band and performed for Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL).

I was then invited to join Burn the Floor, the internationally acclaimed Broadway-style dance production, aboard a Norwegian Cruise Line ship. In this production, I performed as the lead electric guitarist, as well as playing bass and nylon-string guitar.

Experience / Qualifications

I have been teaching guitar and bass since I was 18 years old and have worked with students of all ages and skill levels.

My teaching experience has developed alongside my professional music career, allowing me to combine solid academic training with many years of real-world performance experience.

Throughout the years, I have continued teaching consistently, helping students build technique, musical understanding, and confidence. I also make myself available to answer questions between lessons, so students feel supported as they progress.

Hello! I've been teaching continuously for over 10 years, and I'd like to explain what you can expect from a class with me.

Personalized approach: The most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I will tailor the lessons to your needs: playing for pleasure at home is not the same as preparing for entrance exams (although always with the same rigor). Your goals will influence the methodology, the organization of your studies, the repertoire, and so on.

Relaxed (but rigorous) environment: Once you've defined your goals, classes will be dynamic and pressure-free. Note! "Relaxed" doesn't mean undemanding; we'll just avoid military methods—especially given my personality and sense of humor.

Music, not just notes: My methods are very dynamic, with a special emphasis on hearing and musicality. No "read, play, and turn the page." I avoid approaches obsessed with reading sheet music without memorizing, listening, or understanding what is being played. I want you to own your performance and make artistic decisions. Warning! I might even make you sing.

No stylistic barriers: Thanks to my training in Jazz and Modern Music, I give equal importance to all genres. Adapting to your tastes, we'll go from baroque to blues, from Haydn to bebop... or even Michael Jackson. Why not?
