This can take the form of melodic, harmonic, rhythmic, and orchestrational development, as well as midi programming, mixing, pitching for projects, notation in score and sheet music forms, organization, talking with directors, and all other things related to pursuing creating music for media.

Extra information

I work primarily in Logic and Finale for Midi and Notation, and you will benefit from technical tips on these programs if you use them with me. However, they are not necessary to learn the concepts for you to apply in whatever programs you are most comfortable in.

I love understanding both the HOW and the WHY of things. With this in mind, I will both cover how to achieve something, and why that method works.
I think all music and art is subjective, and there is no ultimately wrong answer. BUT, some methods are more effective than others at achieving a goal. I focus on helping you achieve and learn what you want to learn on a subject, and will not force some pre-concieved idea of a lesson plan on you. I work to make each piece of music you show me become something you love more after we've developed it, and reveal the many ways you can make your music the way you want it to be.

At my studio my students will not only learn how to play the piano, but they will receive a complete musical education in order to achieve their musical dreams. I will give all my best so everybody will get the tools for developing their own voice, helping them to master the instrument and teaching them all the theoretical knowledge they’ll need to make their particular personality shine. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician.

This has never been so true as the present day when you can hear what you compose instantly if you use computers to generate and play back your own music. I have had a great interest in composing for over 45 years. I have composed for various combinations of instruments and voices in a wide variety of styles. Having been a music teacher in a comprehensive school for over 30 years, I have had a lot of very relevant experience in teaching composition to a wide range of different ages and abilities.
