About Me
Hello! My name is Evan and I am a junior studying Cello Performance at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music!
I started my music education at 2 years old with my mom who is a professional violin teacher. However, I fell in love with the cello soon after and have been playing ever since! Growing up, watching her teach students inspired me to share my knowledge with the next generation of cello players. I began giving lessons to younger students in middle school. And in high school, I worked for Atlanta Music project, a program for music education in disadvantaged areas of the Atlanta public school system.
I have studied with a wide variety of amazing cello teachers, and I would love the opportunity to continue teaching students while furthering my studies! Lessons with me will be both fun and well structured. I believe in standard repertoire progression, but I also love to introduce fun alternatives like rock arrangements and improvisation.
