I currently live in Romania but I am from Turkey. I've just moved here. I studied journalism in Ankara in Turkey and now I'm studying social media management as online second university. At the same time, sometimes I give Turkish class on the internet.

I am also a traveller, I really love to meet people all around the world to share things and have amazing memories. I love learning languages and I'd like to teach my language too. I've traveled Italy, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Belgium, Germany, France, Poland etc. almost 30 countries!
In my classes, I'd like to talk also about travel, culture, Turkey and your country too! I have been teaching Turkish to foreigners for a long time

In my first lesson, we talk about what you want to learn Turkish for, what topics you want to focus on. Then we will prepare a program for your level.

My teaching method: If you are a beginner I start with the alphabet, pronunciation. Then I separate the topics like adjectives, adverbs, verbs, tenses. This helps you to learn clearer. Each class I give you list of some words that will be useful to keep in your mind. I manage the vocabulary in any titles.
By the way I can speak in English in my class when I teaching if you want just say me what would you choose.
Then I give you some fun homework for practice. Because It's very useful if you repeat after what you learnt.
Sometimes I give you some links to show you the things in videos or game to learn in a fun way during my class.

I am a native speaker of Turkish and was born in Istanbul.

I have been teaching Turkish to foreigners and I have taught hundreds of students from all ages and professions for more than 20 years. I am a professional English teacher but I like teaching Turkish more as it is my mother tongue and it is a great pleasure for me to share its secrets and beauty.

While teaching I also love giving some useful information about the culture, people, cuisine, films and literature in Turkey to help you get connected to Turkish culture. I prepare written and verbal dialogues in the areas the student is interested in.

I am from Istanbul but I traveled almost all cities, mountains, rivers, lakes in Turkey. I am a person who likes less traveled roads and back streets. Traveling around the world and reading on the areas of spirituality, philosophy, psychology, and literature are my number one hobbies. I lived and worked in London, Toronto, and S. Korea. Living as an expat and learning several languages have helped me having sympathy with my students. Motivation, feeling relaxed and setting realistic targets, in the beginning, are usually the first thing to go.

As for my formal education, I studied Economics, International Relations, Western Philosophy, and American language and literature at the university (MA and BA). And after my 40 years old, I learned classical Arabic and Persian and started to study Islamic spirituality at the doctorate level. I taught English at Prep. school at Istanbul Technical University and Yeditepe University and am retired. Ever since I could remember I have been a teacher. Now I only teach Turkish privately and translate classical novels from English to Turkish. I translated 12 books from English to Turkish.

I teach Turkish that is tailored for each student. Each student is unique for me and I know that every student has her/his own way of learning.
If you are a beginner I give a short lecture about the history of Turkish and its characteristics and help you find your way in this very logical, consistent and elegant language. You understand that Turkish is different but that does not necessarily mean difficulty.
From the first lesson, you start speaking Turkish and find yourself in a dialogue.

I can teach at my place and your place (all around Istanbul).

I use several books using a grammar-based approach integrated with communicative methods to boost the development of all language skills. But we always focus on TALK, TALK, TALK. As a language learner for many years, I know one can learn, improve and take pleasure in a foreign language only by talking and communicating. It is essential to get direct pleasure from what you have learned. My aim is to motivate and inspire you to speak Turkish ignoring minor mistakes and without thinking grammar.

I try to keep in contact with my students almost every day through whatsapp and email. And start some short dialogues.

Based on my 13 years of experience, I think that A1 level is a very important period in language learning. When learning any language, beginner level students should learn it in the correct order and important details should be explained well by practising previous ones. Students at more advanced levels, such as A2, B1 or above, also need to practice their skills at the previous level thoroughly to improve their language skills. I try to provide good teaching by paying attention to these important points in my lessons. I keep our lessons' notes in a word file.
