About Me

Hi! My name is Laura and I am a native Spanish teacher and a translator from Argentina.
You know what? When I was in secondary school, I didn’t like foreign languages. I found English lessons difficult and I usually got bored in class. I didn’t want to fail exams, though, so I decided to take private lessons. It was at that time that I discovered the thrill of learning and communicating with others. Finding inspiring teachers made all the difference. I had always had a passion for reading so I decided to pursue a teaching career. Eventually, I completed my university courses and became Profesora en Lengua y Literatura Inglesa and Traductora Pública.
Since 2005, I have been helping students at different levels learn English and Spanish as a second/ foreign language. I am passionate about language education and literature. Reading authentic literary texts is one of the best options for language improvement. Stories and tales involve us emotionally, awaken our imagination and creativity, and require a personal response.

Each class is aimed at providing a friendly literary adventure. After reading authentic texts by celebrated authors, we will mainly focus on intensive conversation practice. You will ask questions, make predictions, form hypotheses, use your imagination, background knowledge and personal experience. There will be vocabulary and some grammar practice too if you want.
