About Me

I am a native Hungarian speaker and teach Hungarian with patience, empathy, and clear communication. Although I am not a formally trained teacher, I have experience working individually with learners and explaining complex topics in a clear and practical way.

Languages and learning have always fascinated me – I enjoy learning myself and therefore know how important motivation and a pleasant learning environment are. In my free time, I'm interested in personal development, organization, and exchanging ideas with people from different cultures.

I am a professional linguist with several years of experience in teaching languages to groups and individuals. During my lessons I first of all concentrate on speaking, combining it will grammar explanation, vocabulary expansion and cultural acquaintance. My classes are very beneficial - you will feel your progress from class to class. When COVID-19 came, I started teaching only over Skype, and I just love it. I use Google doc. Google doc is like an interactive platform, what we can edit together at the same time, in the beginning of the class it is like a pure text book, in the end it is like your notebook with vocabulary and the solved tasks etc. I use Skype to speak on.

I'm a highly qualified and experienced translator and a language teacher for German and Hungarian. Being a translator and a polyglot enables me to see languages and their grammar systems from a different angle than 'regular' Hungarian native speakers or school teachers. Based on my training and my regional expertise I also provide a variety of language support services for Hungarian.

I have taught both in the private sector and in numerous language schools, adults and children of different ages. I can offer Hungarian to university level, for this is my mother-tongue, and German to B2 level since I live and work in Vienna for more than 20 years now. I came here to study and made my Bachelor's degree in Transcultural Communication and a Master's degree in Translation and Terminology Sciences at the University of Vienna then settled down with a good man and built a family. I also have a teaching qualification for 'German as a Foreign Language' from the University of Kassel in Germany, and didactic training on the renowned BERLITZ-method for 'Native Speaker Language Teachers'. Usually, I work from home, where I have a vast library of teaching resources such as worksheets, textbooks, picture dictionaries, flashcards, games, and lots of books for Beginners with Hungarian-German-English parallel texts, short stories for Easy Readers, etc.
