I am Gur, a Design Engineer with a BEng Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Leicester. I am from Israel and Hebrew is my mother tongue. I provide Hebrew/Maths/Physics lessons for anyone who is interested. The lessons are on days / evenings / weekends.

I believe Hebrew is more than just a language.

We start by building a solid foundation for the language, starting with the alphabet. My learning system, "Hebrew to Hebrew", familiarizes you with the basics of Hebrew.

During each lesson, you will be seated comfortably and you will progress from home in the language. At the end of the course, you can write simple words and read short dialogues. Thus, you will have learned 400 new words, basic syntax as well as verbs. We work on listening through exercises and discussions in the form of short dialogues.

Do you want to read the original Hebrew Bible, Torah, Psalms of King David, authentic, ancient prayer book, Chanuka, Passover, New Year/Rosh Hashana, etc. This class is taught in University-level English.

If you're starting from scratch then we will go over the Alef-Beit, get familiar with the sound of the words and slowly build up a conversational vocabulary and reading and writing abilities, all depends on your interests.

This is a scientific approach to learning biblical Hebrew, as taught at the university level, which provides access to the Masoretic text.

I hold a DEA (Master's degree) in "Languages, History and Civilizations of the Ancient Worlds" with a distinction of VERY GOOD, and I continued my training with the summer courses of the University of Aix-Marseille (Hebrew I, II and III).

I propose an introduction using J. Weingreen's manual, revised by J. Margain (CNRS), which allows progress through a series of short lessons followed by translation and composition exercises. This is a scientific approach to learning biblical Hebrew, as taught at the university level, which provides access to the Masoretic text.
