About Me

I am an honest and friendly Austrian who has found Vietnam as his new home, have a 9 year old daughter who goes to the international school here. Due to Corona, I am not able to continue my job as a machine engineer because I would have to travel a lot to other countries. For this reason I have decided to teach the interested people the German language.

Education

I completed my degree in mechanical engineering in Austria in 1979. I specialize in assembly, quality assurance and vacuum technology, and have worked as a freelancer all over the world. The last few years of it in Asia

My name is Carina and I'm 21 years old. I was born and raised in Germany near Munich and close to the alps. After I graduated from school I've started studying German, English and Geography at the University of Munich. I spent one semester in Saigon and fell in love with the city and its people so I decided to stay and work as a tutor. Thankfully I can continue studying online but from time to time I return to Germany to write my exams. So far I've been working with German and English kids ,teenagers and a few adults. In my lessons I do not only focus on grammar rules. The most important thing is to talk as much as possible. I have different material like CD ́s PowerPoints, worksheets and games which help to learn German in a fun way. There is nothing worse and more inefficient than boring grammar lessons. I would be very happy to teach YOU german!!

My mother tongue is German and I am an experienced German teacher for all age groups from 3 - 80-year-old learners.
Besides German, I have taught English and French from an early age. My level in both languages is C1. Let me know your learning goals and we will figure out a manageable way to reach them.
I have been working in Germany, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam. These living experiences have made me very adaptable. My main focus is to realize the goals of the students – may this be a successful B1 exam, a business language training, or preparation for an anamnesis examination as a medical doctor who would like to work in Germany.
I have experience in teaching individual or group lessons online via Zoom.
I speak other languages: Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Indonesian and am capable to explain vocabulary or grammar using them.
