Teaching Approach
My lessons are designed to be lively and interactive — the student speaks French as much as possible from day one. Rather than passive learning, I focus on active practice: real conversation, spontaneous exchanges, and natural back-and-forth dialogue in French.
Each session blends a variety of exercises to build well-rounded skills:

Listening comprehension — audio clips, dialogues, songs, short videos
Reading comprehension — articles, short texts, dialogues adapted to the student's level
Grammar — practical, contextualized grammar points, not dry memorization
Vocabulary building — themed vocabulary across a wide range of topics (daily life, travel, work, culture, current events, hobbies, etc.), so the student develops the words they'll actually use

The goal is fluency and confidence, not just theoretical knowledge — the student leaves each lesson having actually used the language, not just studied it.

About Me

Hi, I'm Rodolphe. I'm originally from Brittany, France, and I've been living in Budapest, Hungary for over twenty-five years. I've been teaching English and French for more than twenty years, in France, Scotland, and Hungary — working with teenagers in technical/vocational programs as well as adults in professional training or career transition.

My teaching approach is practical and supportive: I adapt to each student's level and goals, whether that means preparing for an exam, improving spoken fluency for professional purposes, or simply rebuilding confidence in a foreign language. I especially enjoy working with students who need patient, structured guidance without unnecessary pressure.

Alongside teaching, I've run a translation and interpreting business in Budapest for over two decades, which brings real-world, hands-on language experience into my lessons — business English, correspondence, oral presentations, and more.

Learning with dyslexia, ADHD, or any other learning difficulty can be frustrating. Especially when you are expected to study in the same way as everyone else, despite your brain just working differently. I know this from personal experience.

I am a law student with dyslexia and ADHD, and over the years I have developed practical strategies that have helped me study, stay organised, and succeed academically. I now want to share those tools with children, teenagers and adults who may be facing similar challenges.

For younger students, I can provide homework and study support, helping them understand how they learn best and how to use practical tools such as mind maps, flashcards, digital resources, structured study sessions and focus techniques. If they already have a diagnosis, I can also help them understand the accommodations and learning tools available to them at school and encourage them to become more confident in communicating their needs.

Just as importantly, I understand the frustration that can come from teachers, classmates or others misunderstanding dyslexia, ADHD as well as other learning difficulties. My aim is to create a supportive, judgement-free environment where students can ask questions, experiment with different study methods and build confidence in their abilities.
