Hello and welcome! My name is Clara, and I am a teacher of Spanish, Catalan and English as second languages. I love teaching, and especially language teaching. I graduated in education (English) from the University of Valencia, and I have a master's degree in Spanish and English as second/foreign languages from the University of Alicante. But much of what I have learned and what helped me grow personally and professionally are the experiences that I was lucky enough to have. For two years I lived in London, where I immersed myself in diverse educational environments, working extensively with children and adults. My career path further extended to Prague, where I contributed to a public school language program, teaching both English and Spanish. Later, at an international school in Madeira, I took on the responsibility of teaching Spanish as a second and third language. This experience not only improved my language proficiency but also exposed me to multicultural learning environments, which was amazing.

Currently living in Barcelona, I am actively engaged in facilitating the integration of students from diverse backgrounds into the local community. So I work as a teacher with children from Pakistan, Georgia, Ukraine, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Honduras, Peru, Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, and more, I teach them Catalan, fostering a sense of belonging and identity, as well as facilitating their adaptation to a new country, with new customs and a new culture.

In addition to my in-person experiences, I am also a teacher in an online academy teaching Spanish and English as second languages. My dedication to language teaching extends beyond the classroom, as I am passionate about exploring the intersection between language instruction, belonging, identity, inclusion, and culture.

I firmly believe that language is not just a means of communication, but a portal to understanding and embracing different cultures. My approach to teaching emphasizes not only linguistic competence, but also the role of language in shaping individual identities and fostering a sense of community.
