Want to improve your English without the stress? 🇬🇧

I offer personalized English lessons for beginners, middle school students and high school students.

Currently living in the UK, I use English daily and can help you develop a more natural and practical English, while understanding the specific difficulties faced by French speakers.

The courses can be tailored to your needs: review of the basics, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, oral expression, conversation, homework help or preparation for tests and exams.

For beginners, we will proceed step by step in order to build solid foundations and, above all, to gain confidence in speaking.

For middle and high school students, I can review the concepts covered in class, explain difficult points and offer exercises adapted to their level.

My goal is to make English simpler, more concrete, and more enjoyable to learn. 🇬🇧
Extra information
No advanced level is required! The courses are particularly suitable for beginners, middle school and high school students.

Remember to bring something to take notes with. If you have a test, assignment, or a particular concept you'd like to work on, please let me know before class so I can prepare a suitable session.

And most importantly, don't stress: making mistakes is a normal part of learning! 😊

Online courses available.

About Me
Hi! I'm Sarah, a native French speaker from France, currently based in Tunbridge Wells, near London. 🇫🇷🇬🇧

I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and I love helping people feel more confident when learning a new language. Having travelled and lived abroad for several years, I understand how important it is to feel comfortable communicating in a different language.

I speak both French and English, which allows me to explain things clearly and understand the challenges English speakers can face when learning French.

I’ve also completed training focused on DELF preparation. I enjoy creating relaxed, practical lessons where students can learn at their own pace and use French in real-life situations. 😊
Education
I have a Master’s degree (Bac+5) and a background in communication and project management.

I have also completed specific training in DELF preparation and a teacher training course in English, which gave me a strong foundation in teaching methods, lesson planning and language learning.

My academic and professional background has helped me develop strong communication skills and the ability to explain ideas clearly and adapt to different learning styles.
Experience / Qualifications
I have 10+ years of professional experience in communication, content creation and working with people from different backgrounds.

I have also completed teacher training in English and specific training focused on DELF preparation.

My experience has developed strong communication, organisation and teaching skills, allowing me to create clear, engaging and personalised lessons adapted to each student's needs and goals.

Learn French with confidence with a native French tutor from France, currently based in the UK.

Whether you're a complete beginner, want to improve your conversational French, prepare for a trip to France, or work towards the DELF exam, I'll create personalised lessons based on your level, goals and interests.

My lessons are practical, interactive and relaxed. We'll work on conversation, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary through real-life situations, so you can use French naturally and confidently.

I've also completed training focused on DELF preparation and can provide structured support for the different parts of the exam.

Lessons are available online, with in-person lessons also possible around Tunbridge Wells. Children, teenagers and adults are welcome.

My goal is simple: to make French enjoyable, useful and accessible, while helping you make steady progress at your own pace. 🇫🇷✨

I am a native American English speaking instructor, editor, journalist, and legal/policy expert from Florida specializing in instruction, interview and exam prep, consulting and text correction for a wide range of professionals & students across Belgium including in the legal, academic, policy, and other fields. I am available to meet in both Brussels.

My past & present clients have included: professionals and politicians from all four major EU institutions, the Belgian government, the UNHCR, and various NGOs, alongside diplomats, doctors, journalists, and engineers, as well as a variety of other professions in addition to traditional students..I have had over 35+ repeat students on Apprentus (which recently changed their algorithm to only display the last six months).

Approaching from a true native's perspective, I instruct and assist with both educational and business English in a multi-faceted nature covering a wide range of areas including comprehension, conversation, grammar, and situational skills, in addition to working on general language skills and accent training. As well, I can provide extensive help and training with the EPSO, IELTS, and TOEFL exams.

I have also written, edited or proofread a variety of academic papers, theses, applications, CVs, and other documents for numerous satisfied academic and professional clients.

I have spent my entire childhood and adult life in the United States before completing a master's degree in Political Science and European Politics at KU Leuven. Additionally, I also possess Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and History. I have an extensive knowledge and experience of English grammar and literature, as well as current and past working experience in journalism (Anti-Competition Law and European Policy at the Policy and Regulatory Report) and both European and American politics.

I have no problem meeting anywhere in Brussels or further afield within the region. I also handle correction of text, editing, proofreading and ghostwriting, with weekly and monthly rates possible. My transportation costs are included.

Aló / Hola / Hey!

I’m Ryan — and yes, in Portuguese it sounds like “LION,” just swap the LI for a HI. 😊

I’m a PhD language educator with over a decade of experience teaching Spanish, Portuguese, and Academic English at every level — from absolute beginners to advanced university students and professionals. I earned my Ph.D. in Latin American Literature and Culture from the University of Texas at Austin, one of the leading institutions for language pedagogy in the U.S. Since 2024, I have held a position as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

I’ve taught at major universities including the University of Michigan, University of Texas-Austin, Villanova, and Thomas Jefferson University. My experience includes everything from foundational grammar and conversation courses to advanced writing, medical Spanish, Portuguese for Spanish speakers, and culturally focused seminars on race, media, and society in the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking world.

Beyond the classroom, I’ve worked extensively as a professional interpreter and translator in Spanish and Portuguese, supporting migrants, asylum seekers, educators, and public institutions. I’ve also lived and worked across South America and bring real-world cultural experience into every lesson.

Whether you're: starting from scratch, preparing for travel, strengthening academic writing, building professional fluency, maintaining a heritage language, or refining advanced grammar and style, I tailor lessons to your goals with clarity, structure, and encouragement.

My teaching style is rigorous but relaxed — we work hard, we laugh, and you leave each session feeling more confident than when you arrived.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me biking, rock climbing, birding, or playing guitar.

I’d love to help you reach your language goals. Let’s get started!
