About Me
I am a native English speaker and a teacher of English as a second language (ESL) with a Bachelor of Fundamentals and Methodology of Education and an Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology. I have been teaching both in elementary schools in Texas, USA and privately (in home and by computer) for over 30 years. I was born in Texas and spent all but the last 5 years living there. I am currently living in the Dominican Republic.
Education
Bachelor of Fundamentals and Methodology of Education from the United States Institute of Language and Clerical Studies and an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Technology from North Central Texas College.

In this course, the student will learn how to follow the scientific process and the engineering process (starting in G1). There will be chapters that discuss technology, plants, animals, environments, weather, space, matter, and energy. Reading, comprehension, vocabulary, and practical application are all aspects of the course. There are between 10 and 15 units depending on the grade level with 2 to 5 lessons in each unit. GK-G2 are generally taught in 30 minute lessons and G3-G6 in 45-60 minute lessons.
During this progressive series of lessons, students will learn the writing process, the traits of writing, and paragraph development. They will learn to write essays for the following types of writing: Descriptive Writing, Expository Writing, Narrative Writing, Persuasive Writing, Creative Writing, and Report Writing. Graphic organizers will be included for the different types of writing to assist in gathering details. Building strong topic sentences and using appropriate transitions will be covered, as well. There will be progressive grammar exercises to teach appropriate sentence structure.
