About Me

Bonjour à tous! Hello everyone!
Being born in Belgium, I grew up in a multilingual (French / Dutch) context. Early on at school I already discovered my interest in language and culture which grew out to a passion for language, food and travel.
Me as a Teacher
I've been a teacher for 7 years now. I gathered my theoretical knowledge during my academic education (Master of Arts in Linguistics and Literature French / Spanish). However, it is mostly my practical experience which allows me to provide practical and hands-on tutoring (Specific Teacher Training in Languages and 6 years of experience as a French teacher).
The most attractive quality of (online) tutoring is the fact that I can teach goal oriented, in function of the specific needs of the student. I offer interactive lessons. Based on my experience with students of different ages and different levels of language proficiency, I'm able to offer a variety of exercises in different aspects of the language skills: oral, written (both active and passive). I use a wide range of authentic resources (audio / video / texts) to encourage your participation and progression. The most important to me is to make you speak as naturally and confidently as possible.

A qualified language coach with 25 years of experience offers intensive Dutch lessons in a small class or online.

I give many Dutch NT2 lessons to expats and in preparation for an integration exam.
Specialized in guiding for the State Exam I and II. Special exam coach.

In January 2025 I will also start with groups again. We have a great classroom in the center of Rotterdam, near metro station Beurs, lessons with small homogeneous groups (little difference in level).

We mainly go for quality and not just running a lesson. I am really involved in the progress of the student. In addition to teaching, I want to do everything to really motivate students to take the next step. That is my strength!

As soon as students want to further improve their knowledge of Dutch, I always advise and coach them to take the State Exam I or II, the only formal Certificate in this country, recognized by employers and universities.

I will try to switch to conversation after a few lessons, to put your knowledge into practice as soon as possible. Don't get too caught up in the grammar.

Teaching is my ultimate passion and even after 25 years it feels like the first time and students always feel inspired to overcome the obstacles.

I also teach you about Dutch social culture, which is intertwined in the course and is strongly related to the language.

I provide lessons for the Nt2 Staatsexamen and Dutch Nationalisation exam (Inburgering examen)and Business Dutch for ex-pats and people who want to learn everyday Dutch. In the citizenship exam course, students learn about history, geography and basic vocabulary which are the contents of the exam. They learn how to respond to basic questions. Besides preparatory lessons for (Inburgering examen ,citizenship exam ,I teach Business Dutch( Zakelijk Nederlands) to expats. Online lessons are delivered through Google meet and Ms Teams and other online platforms. The lessons are conducted online as well as at a location in The Hague. Both private and group lessons are available.

I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course.
