I teach Dutch to adults and young adults in different contexts, focusing both on general language acquisition and professional communication. My approach is learner-centered and interactive. I combine communicative methods with structured grammar and vocabulary development, always adapting the lessons to the needs and goals of my students.

At CVO and LIGO, I work with diverse groups of learners, often with multicultural and multilingual backgrounds. I emphasize practical language skills that students can apply in their daily lives, such as speaking, listening, and functional writing. I also integrate cultural aspects of Dutch-speaking society to help students not only learn the language but also understand the context in which it is used.

At VUB, I teach professional Dutch, which means I prepare students for academic and professional settings. Here I focus on formal writing, presentations, academic vocabulary, and workplace communication. I encourage active participation, group work, and task-based learning to simulate real-life situations.

Across all levels and institutions, I believe in creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment, where students feel confident to experiment with language. I use digital tools, authentic materials, and personalized feedback to maximize learning outcomes and to motivate students to develop both fluency and accuracy in Dutch.

DUTCH FOR FOREIGNERS - ALL LEVELS - A0 to C1 / ONLINE LESSONS VIA SKYPE.
I teach beginners and advanced students. Special training is possible for integration exams or state exams.
All frequencies possible; once or several times a week. Lesson duration: 60, 90 and 120 minutes. Most students prefer lessons of 90 or 120 minutes, because 60 minutes is considered too short. I give CUSTOMIZED lessons at the pace that suits you. If you want to speed up, we speed up; if you want to slow down, we slow down; if you want to practice more, we practice more; everything depends on your general level of education and the time you have available - outside of class hours - to study and do homework.
Classes are available from 9am to 5pm; evening classes are negotiable. The available time slots on the Apprentus website are an indication only; since I do both short and long projects, I can often schedule you in at short notice, so you can start your course almost immediately.

NT2 - Dutch for speakers of other languages: help with the integration exam, State Exam I and II

Dutch lessons for non-native speakers at all levels, from A0 to C1. All frequencies possible: once or several times a week. Lessons of 60, 90 or 120 minutes. I adapt my lessons to your pace. I teach from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00. Evening lessons after 17:00 are also possible (in consultation); + 30%.
The times that there is room for lessons are only an indication!! Usually there is room at short notice, since I accept both short and long projects.

A qualified language coach with 25 years of experience offers intensive Dutch lessons in a small class or online.

I give many Dutch NT2 lessons to expats and in preparation for an integration exam.
Specialized in guiding for the State Exam I and II. Special exam coach.

In January 2025 I will also start with groups again. We have a great classroom in the center of Rotterdam, near metro station Beurs, lessons with small homogeneous groups (little difference in level).

We mainly go for quality and not just running a lesson. I am really involved in the progress of the student. In addition to teaching, I want to do everything to really motivate students to take the next step. That is my strength!

You can also choose the online lesson package with Whereby, Teams or Zoom in a comfortable way. Online classes are one-on-one or maximum one-on-two, for better results.

My English is fluent, as well as Portuguese and Spanish. I understand the difficulties of overcoming barriers for Latin languages and for expats in general, as I have also been an expat.

Online lessons last 75 minutes once a week for 10 weeks to reach a higher level.

This is the normal speed. Including exam training (A-2 or Staatsexamen) and exam at the end.

Intensive training ? That can also be done in five to ten full days, I am used to giving these very intensive trainings to CEOs or managers who want it faster and more intensive ... all lessons within 3 or 4 weeks. Based on the European system A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2 and C-1

As soon as students want to further improve their knowledge of Dutch, I always advise and coach them to take the State Exam I or II, the only formal Certificate in this country, recognized by employers and universities.

I will try to switch to conversation after a few lessons, to put your knowledge into practice as soon as possible. Don't get too caught up in the grammar.

Teaching is my ultimate passion and even after 25 years it feels like the first time and students always feel inspired to overcome the obstacles.

I also teach you about Dutch social culture, which is intertwined in the course and is strongly related to the language.

I provide lessons for the Nt2 Staatsexamen and Dutch Nationalisation exam (Inburgering examen)and Business Dutch for ex-pats and people who want to learn everyday Dutch. In the citizenship exam course, students learn about history, geography and basic vocabulary which are the contents of the exam. They learn how to respond to basic questions. Besides preparatory lessons for (Inburgering examen ,citizenship exam ,I teach Business Dutch( Zakelijk Nederlands) to expats. Online lessons are delivered through Google meet and Ms Teams and other online platforms. The lessons are conducted online as well as at a location in The Hague. Both private and group lessons are available.

I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

Each class is tailored to the individual's requirements and/or needs. Want to improve career opportunities; learn or improve business Dutch, which will be the focus of each class.

For those already are familiar with Dutch; expanding existing knowledge together with a deeper cultural understanding and insight.

All students will be provided lesson schedules in advance for their review (time permitting).

The main focus is on total immersion in a fun and comprehensible way, without omitting important aspects such as grammar, etc.

Prepare in an efficient, intensive way for the ITNA (Interuniversity Language Test Dutch), based on tailor-made exercises.
