My teaching approach is based on understanding the logic behind each calculation.

For quantitative questions, we normally use a clear structure:

- What is given?
- What needs to be found?
- Which formula or accounting principle applies?
- Why does it apply?
- How is the result calculated?
- What does the final number actually mean?

This is particularly useful in Accounting and Finance.

Students sometimes learn one example mechanically and then become confused when the wording or numbers change in an examination. I therefore use different question styles so that students learn to recognise the underlying principle.
