This course provides a basic understanding of pattern making skills, sewing techniques and tools which are being used for garment construction. At present, many technologies and tools are being used for pattern making therefore, it become necessary to understand basics of pattern making and sewing techniques. This particular course discusses about pattern making, sewing, techniques and practical activities in the context of body measurements, marking and hand stitching. The course on “Basics of Pattern Making and Sewing” aims to develop a good knowledge and understanding of garment construction skill and sewing techniques.

About Me

A talented and student-focused fashion lecturer with 2+ years of experience in teaching undergraduate fashion studio courses at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and as a guest lecture at various institutions in India.
Through a passionate endeavour in organising curriculum, teaching materials, and classroom implementation; I have successfully taught varying subjects in Fashion Design including illustrations, design development, patternmaking, garment construction, and CLO 3D software, in an engaging way that promotes student participation.

I have a bachelor's degree in digital arts, obtained at Saint Luc in 2016. During my studies I made live models, had courses in color, 2D animation, perspectives and character design.
I mainly draw with a graphics tablet.
During the lessons we will see how:
- look at an image, understand how the artist composes it, then learn to reproduce a style.

Learn to draw by observing the world around you.
In these classes we will explore drawing from life: people, places and everyday scenes.

We can work from real objects, photographs, or illustrations.
If you're interested in manga, ink drawing, or ukiyo-e (traditional Japanese woodblock prints), we can also explore that style.

If you have something you'd like to draw, you can bring it to class.
If not, we will use reference materials that I have prepared.

No prior experience is necessary. Beginners are welcome.
