English Literature Tutoring for GCSE and/ or A-Level
From 49.78 C$ /h
My lessons would be based around the student's needs, so we would focus on the areas they are most keen to cover, whether this is close-reading of texts, developing essay skills, or building comprehension and confidence. I would lead the teaching and come to every lesson with ideas prepared, but I would also let the student guide their learning. (So, if we end up spontaneously covering something different to what I'd planned, that's alright!) I'd like for students to get involved in lessons by engaging in discussion and feeling comfortable asking questions. It would be a relaxed dynamic in which the student and I talk on equal grounds. If there's something the student doesn't understand yet, I'll be patient and try out a different approach. What works for one student might be different for another; the great thing about a tutor is that these lessons are made for you! You'll be an English whizz in no time, trust me.

About Me
Hi there! I'm Amy, an English with Creative Writing student from London. As you might've guessed by my choice of degree, I'm a major English nerd (and I'd like to think that I know my stuff pretty well). I got the highest mark in English Lit in my year at GCSE and 48/50 in my English Lit coursework at A-Level.
Though I haven't had tons of teaching experience, I have two younger siblings (one has just finished year 13, the other is going into year 11) who I often help when it comes to exams. I was a GCSE English tutor in year 12 and before that, I worked at a Tuition Centre where I tutored children in English and Maths.
I'm a patient, encouraging and engaging tutor who wants to make English less daunting and more interesting for my students. You'll be an English whizz in no time!
