About Me
Lucy is a very empathetic and caring teacher and believes that her students feel valued. She gets to know their strengths as well as the things they feel less confident to tackle, and thinks of ways to bring a subject alive to them in new ways. She uses a range of strategies to help engage young learners, including games, challenges and practical ways to solve problems. She is skilled in breaking down concepts in easy to understand ways to make lessons as engaging and stimulating as possible.
Lucy is very creative and has eclectic interests which include puppetry, cinema, woodwork, sci-fi, history and current affairs. She grew up playing numerous musical instruments, but focuses her time these days on her piano accordion. She loves to learn and to nurture a love of learning in others.

Education
Lucy graduated with a degree in Visual Communication before completing her PGCE at the University of Cambridge, and as well as teaching in the state and private sectors, Lucy taught abroad while volunteering at a teacher training college in Nigeria for 3 years. Whilst there, she worked with local primary school teachers and helped to support lecturers to teach students about early years education. She now works in a World Heritage Site in London in their learning team while continuing to teach in a range of local primary schools as a cover teacher.
