The violin is a beautiful instrument with a beautiful sound and a very large repertoire. Make an appointment for a lesson to try it out! In my lessons I pay a lot of attention to learning a good basic technique and relaxed posture. With this you can achieve much more and experience more fun playing the violin. We will also learn how to read music, train ear and the basics of music theory.

Music is a kind of magic. Too often we approach classical instruments, such as cello, in too conservative a way. We immediately picture musicians in funny clothes with white wigs. Or men dressed like penguins and women in funeral black. Music is much more than that. It's fun and I'll show you. Music is so much more than boring exercises. First of all, it's about having fun and playing what YOU want. Movie Music, pop / rock songs, etc. In addition, music can help develop important skills such as creativity, collaboration, decision-making, sense of responsibility and many others. Sometimes it is beneficial to understand the context that led to the development of ideas or concepts, but a clear conceptual understanding solidified by practice is key to proper comprehension because it builds intuition. I encourage questions and reflections on the material, as well as active thinking about the problem.

Hello there! My name is Vasilis and I am a jazz/rock/eastern traditional and classical guitar player, singer and songwriter currently studying as a 3rd year student in the Jazz and Pop guitar department of HKU conservatory. I am coming from Greece where I graduated from my first bachelor on classical guitar and the last three years I live, study, work and play in Utrecht. My teaching career started very early, 12 years ago when my classical guitar teacher let me teach my first student and since then I have worked in multiple music schools and in private lessons with students of every age. This year I also started giving my first band coaching group lessons. In my lessons I try to create a learning path that is formed arround the interests and taste of each student. Since I am a singer and songwriter the lessons can also focus on the creating part of music if of course the student is interested in that. I work with empathy and sensitivity arround the needs of each student. As for my playing career, I play with multiple bands on original songs of mine or covers in different venues and festivals in Europe. The genres differ between pop, jazz, rock, eastern traditional and blues so I can give a big variety of stylistic directions to each student. Last but not least, I am also a singer and because of my good performance in school, I was awarded from the HKU Conservatory the oportunity to follow the vocal curriculum of the school as well. So I can help you with singing too!

With the Suzuki method, everyone can learn to play the violin! The main components of the Suzuki method are: Start young (from 3 years old). Listening to music frequently. Learning to play before learning to read music notation (native language method). Parental involvement (Parents study with their children at home). A fixed core repertoire. Combination of individual and group lessons. Classes can be taught in Dutch, English or Polish.

I specialize in tutoring secondary school students in English language and literature, particularly students from international schools. I am familiar with the IB-programme and similiar programmes. However, exceptions can be made for other students. I am fluent in both Dutch and English, so tutoring in either language would not be an issue from me.
