Hello,

With 4 years of speech therapy studies and holder of a diploma in teaching French as a foreign language (DAEFLE), I cultivate a real passion for our language that I would like to pass on to you in order to help you overcome your difficulties.

For the past eight years, I have been teaching people of all nationalities and levels in Nice, either as a private tutor or as a teacher in several French schools for foreigners.
Accustomed to interacting with all types of profiles, I can easily determine your level and needs from the first lesson and then, according to your desires and requirements, I propose the path to follow to move forward together in your learning of French.
My diverse experiences in this field (teacher, examiner, educational coordinator...) as well as in speech therapy where I have completed numerous internships with children, adolescents and adults with difficulties, have contributed to enriching my pedagogical and relational skills (being patient, attentive and reassuring in the face of obstacles and "blockages").

Classes can take place at my home or yours in Nice, in a public place (if you especially want to improve your conversation) or online.

Are you a student in first or final year and discover the method of the essay? Are you preparing for competitions and need to master argumentative writing? Then this course has been designed for you.

French teacher on University Objectives and graduate of Sciences Po Grenoble, I specialized in teaching academic writing: dissertation, text comments, summary notes.

I propose to help you progress without overloading you by making you work:
• Methodology: How do we analyze a subject? How do we identify a problem and a plan?
• Writing style: How can I make my texts clear and pleasant to read? How to interest and support the corrector?

Working on the dissertation and other writings will allow you both to achieve your academic goals but also to develop your critical, analytical and argumentative thinking skills.

Bonjour ! I’m Mélanie — a native French teacher (and English too 😄) based in Nice.

I help learners of all levels make real progress in French — without boring or overly academic lessons. My approach is dynamic, personal, and focused on what truly matters to you: speaking naturally, feeling confident, and enjoying the process.

Over the past few years, I’ve guided hundreds of students to excellent results by using creative, interactive methods adapted to their goals — whether that’s improving conversation, preparing for exams, or learning for travel or work.

I also offer “in-context” French lessons, where we can practise French in real situations — at a café, museum, market, or walking through the old town. It’s a fun, immersive way to learn that makes the language come alive.

Each lesson is tailored to your needs, pace, and personality — so you’ll always feel supported and motivated.

With professionals I use my academic and professional background to quickly adapt to the student's requirements (high-level positions in the energy and private banking sectors. As a passionate French teacher, I offer courses tailored to all levels — from primary school to adulthood. My goal is to instill a love of the French language while helping each student progress at their own pace.

For primary school students, I use a playful and interactive approach, promoting oral expression, reading and writing.
In middle school, my classes reinforce grammar, spelling, writing and text comprehension.
For adults, I adapt my lessons according to needs: refresher courses, professional French or learning French as a foreign language (FLE).

I offer you a new learning experience.

Academic success, even at the university level, is determined by the ability to understand and write different types of texts. I offer courses that will allow you to overcome the difficulties you encounter in reading or writing by giving you the text-writing toolkit that school, unfortunately, doesn't provide. I myself had to build this toolkit over the years at university, and I will gladly share it with you so that you can succeed.

Here are the different points that my offer covers:

READING
Guided reading
Effective reading strategies
Text theory (structure, function, typology...)
General knowledge
Communication Theory

PRODUCTION
Reformulation
Summary
Reading log
Accurate
Text analysis
Characterization
Interpretation
Text explanation
Text commentary
Dissertation Essay
Comment
Argumentation

You can take a full course with regular sessions or one-off courses to do specific work such as writing a reading summary.

Lessons can be taken individually or in groups. The methods are flexible to adapt to each individual case.

What matters to me in particular:

motivate my student and give him a learning pace;
encourage their creativity;
to awaken his curiosity;
to forge a friendship with the texts

During this first lesson, you can get a solid idea of my teaching style. I look forward to meeting you.
