My name is Davids and I invite those who wish to learn how to play the guitar of all levels to my classes. I offer three courses:

1. Do you want to learn how to play the guitar, but don't know where to start? The "Learning From Scratch" course will suit you, with the help of which you will master the basics of guitar playing technique, learn chords, develop finger motor skills, improve your sense of rhythm and musical ear, and also get acquainted with the basics of musical theory.

2. Already playing and want to go to the next level? The Next Level course is designed specifically for you. It focuses on improving technique, correcting mistakes, expanding the musical repertoire, in-depth analysis of the student's favorite styles, as well as developing a sense of rhythm, musical ear and knowledge of musical theory.

3. Do you want to learn how to record and compose your own music? The course "Songwriting and Composition" is suitable for you, which delves into musical theory, arranging, composition and teaches the basics of musical production.

I teach in English, Russian and Latvian

The lesson plan is compiled individually for each student.

I will teach you how to work with such programs as Ableton Live 11, Guitar Pro 8. You will learn how to create and record your songs / tracks / compositions both at home and in the studio.

About Me

I am a composer, guitarist and music producer from Riga, Latvia based in Cologne, Germany, who specializes in different kinds of music. I draw my main influences from jazz, classical music, jazz fusion and post-rock.

My musical education has thus far consisted of taking private guitar lessons and attending Ventspils Music College’s pop and jazz guitar program (2013-2016).

Also I studied music at the Dynamic Records Music School music production and sound engineering. (2016-2017)

Since 2018 I study jazz guitar performance in Latvian music academy BA program (Jāzepa Vītola Latvijas Mūzikas akadēmija)

My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education.
My experience runs mostly in early and chamber music, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals.

Folk or classical acoustic guitar.

The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation.

For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...).

For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...).

Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points:

-Study of various playing techniques, chords, harmony, music of your choice, rhythm, with reading of tablature, teaching structured around the repertoire you like, technique of developing the musical ear
- Discovery of the neck, notes and basic positions of open chords

Would you classify improvisation as composition or performance? Well actually it is both! When you improvise you are composing music on the spot, performing what you have made up at the same time as you have composed it.

For many people improvisation is a scary word and having to improvise in a group or band is an alarming prospect. However, this really does not need to be the case. As long as you have a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument you will be able to improvise. Once you know the principle of how chords are formed you will soon be improvising with ease.

The key to success is understanding chords. Once you know how chords are formed and know what notes make up a few chords you will be well on your way towards being able to improvise. We will, therefore, start by ensuring a firm knowledge of certain chords. After this we will progress to improvising a simple melody over the top of these chords. The next stage is to start using notes that are not in the chord. The process is then open ended with emphasis on developing the melody.

If you play a keyboard instrument you will be able to improvise your own pieces and be able to entertain your friends at a moments notice. On the other hand if you play in a band or a group you will be well equipped to do a real 'jam' session.

Whether you play a single line instrument (flute, saxophone, trumpet, violin etc.) or keyboard instruments, this class is for you.
