MIT App Inventor is a visual programming environment that enables everyone to build apps for smartphones and tablets. The course for beginners does not require any previous programming experience. It starts with an introduction to the App Inventor interface. Then, after Event-Driven Programming is explained, learners will discover the available command blocks which they will have to combine to make their own apps. During this course, learners will have the opportunity to use their imagination and practise analytical and critical thinking to create their own apps such as animations, games, quizzes, tourist guides or drawing apps. Krav Maga: Modern Art It all starts with a choice: Refuse violence, refuse to be dominated by violence and even the fear of violence, be it verbal, emotional and especially physical. One of the means to achieve this goal: the art of Krav Maga Created in the late 1960s in Israel by Master Imi Lichtenfeld (1910-1998), Krav Maga was designed and forged especially to respond to any form of physical aggression. The basis on which Krav Maga is based is REALITY: it is unpredictable, multiform, brutal and forgives only very few errors. From this observation, it is easier to understand the characteristics of Krav Maga and especially what distinguishes it from traditional martial arts that also offer a module "self-defense". Singers like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra have left an indelible mark on American popular music through their jazz vocal stylings, fusing a conversational delivery with rhythmic and melodic improvisation. This course is tailored for each student to teach the unique characteristics of jazz singing and how to apply these characteristics to create your own sound. You will learn jazz phrasing, how to integrate good technique into jazz song styles, and how to sing with a number of time feels and grooves. The course focuses on jazz vocal technique and delivery, including use of vocal inflections, dynamics, articulation, and interpretation, and how to improvise through rhythmic and melodic phrasing. The course then will go deeper into jazz improvisation expanding the musical vocabulary of scat studying syllabels, rhythm, and melodic ideas. In this course we will apply these concepts to jazz tunes in various tempos and grooves, including ballads, medium swing, fast swing, and bossa nova. You'll move on to learn important considerations for effective stage presence and use of the microphone, too.

A qualified language coach with 25 years of experience offers intensive Dutch lessons in a small class or online. I give many Dutch NT2 lessons to expats and in preparation for an integration exam.
