Guitar / Bass / Ukulele / Theory

Guitar / Bass / Ukulele / Theory

The course that I propose is BILINGUAL FRENCH / ENGLISH, as well as 2 BOOKS. Age and musical taste are not restrictive when in the program, you can with qualitative daily work (not quantitative) quickly observe your progress. Here the pleasure of playing music is put forward. The kind of music you love most will be the focus of the course, their codes and secrets will be the focus of our study, that's what I want to share with you. We can do technical lessons and simply learn together how to play one or more songs of your choice or mine, enrich your game with this approach and your repertoire! (For example, We can re-arrange the pieces and make them more original by approaching the system (CAGED), and enriching their chords, resulting in new positions, new techniques and new sounds, using arpeggio techniques rather than strumming for 4-chord pieces, voicing and fingerstyle techniques, in short, expanding the instrument's playing fields and playing skills to keep progressing in your game and improve your rehearsals ...) If you make a request, this program is obviously accompanied by the pleasure of learning more in theory and being able to directly apply new knowledge on its instrument and identify its common or rare use in the pieces discussed in class. In this case, the theory is translated to be accessible to anyone, both for those who are connoisseurs and for those who discover everything from absolute zero. The exercises, songs, and theoretical explanations offered throughout the program are organized in an order of progressive difficulty. I wrote and produced 2 books of my method to learn the guitar and the music, that I sell to accompany my course and your apprenticeship in the best conditions and so that you can continue the course even at home and to review etc ... . There is ONE BOOK OF COURSES containing all the theoretical and practical program of the year, as well as a BOOK OF EXERCISE on the ranges and the modes that you can obtain directly. You can find here an indicative list of objectives that I propose in my theoretical program, which can of course adapt to your request. The general theoretical objectives of the course: --- Tuning / tuning and knowing his guitar: * Standard Tuning * Drop Tuning * Open Tuning * Adjust the optimal tension of the strings * Adjust the shaft axis * Adjust the action of the strings * Choose the strings adapted to the style of play / tuning * Change his strings -Know his chords: * Triads: Fundamental State & Inversions * Tetrads: Fundamental State & Inversions * The chord progressions of the Range * Arpeggio techniques (tapping, sweep, 1/2/4 fing.shape, etc ...) --- Know his scales and his modes * The Mode of the Major scale * 3 Modes of the Minor scale: Natural / Melodic / Harmonic * Modes of the Pentatonic range: 5 positions * Modes of the Blues range: 5 positions Etc ... --- Technique to the Pick / Plectrum / Tab / Pick (Electric Guitar): * Alternate Picking * Fast Picking / Tremolo Picking * Hybrid Picking * Palm Mute * Natural Harmonics * Pinch Harmonics * Artificial Harmonics * Shredding * Tapping * Sweep Picking * Legato Picking --- Strumming / Hand Picking (Acoustic Guitar) * "SnareDrum" percussion on the guitar * Arpeggios pinched with 4 fingers + thumb * Rasgueado (Flamenco Technique) * Generic Strumming * Fingerstyle Picking * Two-finger picking + Legato for fast melodies (eg a solo) -Play the metronome * exercises on click * practice on song riffs -Learn his favorite songs * without thinking about the difficulty, nothing is impossible with the right methodology -Improvise * choose ranges and positions * to place oneself rhythmically, to finish on the judicious notes -Theory of Harmony * Understand harmonization and its practice -Theory on the Melody -Theory of Rhythm

Medieval, folk and Celtic harp lessons

Medieval, folk and Celtic harp lessons

"I still remember the first time I heard the sound of a harp. I was 8 years old, my grandparents took me to a concert in the small church of Gosselies. When the harpist began to pluck the strings, I was kidnapped by the magical sound that emanated from the wooden heart. The longer the concert went on, the closer I got to the harp... After pestering my parents for a year, I began to study this magnificent instrument. It immediately became a sacred object for me. Thanks to it, I could communicate my feelings, laugh, relax and find the balance I was looking for." My courses are based on the Irish teaching method so first of all to the ear, on the resources that the student has in himself and on the fact that one learns while having fun. I propose a harp lesson: - Medieval dedicated to teenagers and adults for false beginner and intermediate based on medieval music and rebirth, improvisation, arrangement of melodies, ... - Celtic for all ages from 14 to 70 years, beginner level, false beginner, intermediate and intermediate / advanced based on Celtic repertoire and Irish, Scottish and Breton techniques After a few lessons, the neo-harpists will play short and simple melodies until the end of the journey to play more complete melodies that provide accompaniment and use of both hands. Lessons are defined on the learning needs of individual students. Even if I use the Irish teaching method, I will provide the basis for reading the pentagram, for the integration of rhythm, the foundations of harmony so that the student can read a piece of music independently. I live in Italy, so I come back to Belgium about once a month for face-to-face lessons (duration of face-to-face lesson: 90 minutes). Next dates for in-person classes in Belgium: Friday, October 2, 2026. For googlemeet courses (3-4x per month, lesson duration 60 minutes) see typical week. Do not hesitate to write to me.

Harp lessons, solfeggio and piano lessons for children, teenagers and adults

Harp lessons, solfeggio and piano lessons for children, teenagers and adults

Lessons for all ages. Harp, piano, music theory. I graduated from the KMC Gent and have a career/experience of more than 40 years. I also followed yoga, mindfulness and kinesiology courses. The combination of playing an instrument with mindfulness opens up many possibilities. During the lessons for harp or piano you learn the necessary technique, and musicality is taken into account. The better the technical skill, the more fluidly the musicality can unfold. No previous knowledge of ear training is required for the instrument. Gradually you learn to read the notes. For those who wish, I teach General Musical Education / Slofège. Here you practice extra on reading, rhythm, general & specific hearing exercises, and theoretical knowledge. Those who are going to higher music studies and experience a gap in music theory can come to me for specific training. I also guide students for solfège who are taking their entrance exam for KMC and also during their student trajectory. Here is more explanation. The lessons are individual and adapted to each student. For toddlers aged 4 to 6 who are learning to play the piano, I follow a method based on a musical fairy tale. It is a method that meets the child's world of experience. They discover the possibilities of the instrument and the way of writing songs. Step by step they learn to play and sing songs on the piano. For harp I can advise to start at 6 years. Fingers at 4 years are still too tender to pluck strings. 6 years is a better age to start harp playing. They play on a small instrument that is appropriate for their age. For children who start from the age of 7, I use a different method book for piano and the child's world of experience is also taken into account. For children who start playing the harp at that age, the method book is also aimed at the child. The method books are therefore tailored to the age and capabilities of the child, teenagers and adults. For students at the university of applied sciences/KMC; Royal Conservatory of Music who are pursuing professional music studies, the subject 'solfège' is included in the curriculum. In the event of deficiencies in this subject, specific needs are addressed. Both theory, lecture in G and F clef, performance of rhythm in all time signatures, rhythm dictation, intonation training, intonation dictation, recognition of intervals melodic and harmonic, rhythmic-melodic dictation can be updated to make up for deficiencies. I can guide the student in both music as a hobby and professionally.

CELLO & MUSIC LESSONS FOR ALL AGES AND LEVELS WITH A PROFESSIONAL CELLIST WITH 10 YEARS OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE (IN PERSON AND ONLINE)

CELLO & MUSIC LESSONS FOR ALL AGES AND LEVELS WITH A PROFESSIONAL CELLIST WITH 10 YEARS OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE (IN PERSON AND ONLINE)

Are you in love with the sound of the cello but have never dared to start playing it? Have you been playing the cello as an amateur and now need an expert to guide you? Do you want to develop and improve your cello and musical skills? Do you need reinforcement lessons? Would you like to prepare for entrance exams to the conservatory? Would you love to join a youth orchestra and need help preparing for the auditions? ... These are the private cello lessons you were looking for! My name is Miriam, I am a graduate in Master of Classical Music at KASK & Conservatorium in Ghent. I've been teaching cello to children, teenagers and adults for 10 years, so I've acquired the necessary experience to be able to adapt to the different and personal needs and objectives of each student. My teaching methodology focuses on creating a friendly and relaxed environment (which does not mean undemanding!) in which students feel confident to express their own ideas and worries. In my lessons I focus on technical and postural questions, but we also reflect together on the music, as I like my students to develop their own musical ideas and not just imitate the teacher. Contact me now to schedule your first lesson and take the first step toward your musical aspirations! :)

“ Lou-Indigo is hands-down the best teacher I have ever had the pleasure of learning music from. Having been taught by a number of music teachers for a variety of different instruments, I have experienced a range of different teaching styles and personalities, yet nobody has been able to keep me focused and captivated by music in the way that Lou-Indigo does. In the past, music lessons would always bore me, as I found that my perspective of music being an outlet of creativity would often be tarnished by previous teachers who took too much of a strict, structural approach to music. On the other hand, some other teachers would be too relaxed, often leading to me becoming frustrated by a lack of progress and direction. Lou-Indigo manages to skillfully combine structure, creativity and a relaxed atmosphere into a 60-minute lesson. I am the complete opposite of bored and genuinely look forward to every lesson. Instead of feeling drained after sessions, I feel inspired to learn more. In my opinion, Lou-Indigo does this by crafting just the right amount of challenge into each exercise, enough to give you a sense of progress and achievement, but not too much to make you feel frustrated or overly daunted. Furthermore, his clear explanation of music theory and guitar techniques, evidently backed by years of experience, gives you a deeper insight into music, uncovering the medium's potential for creative expression. I could not recommend Lou-Indigo more. ”

“ I started my lessons with Giorgia four months ago, and I am so glad to have found her. As a 26-year-old beginner, I was not sure if I should even try to pursue learning an instrument at this point. But now I am so glad I did! I am learning online, and I was a little unsure of how lessons via webcam would go. Despite my prejudice, everything turned out great, even though my setup is quite basic. Her approach to teaching is very creative. She is able to explain things that seem hard to put into words, and she always finds comparisons and descriptions that convey clearly little details of approach that make a lot of difference in the end result. For any difficulty I encountered, she presented methods of exercise that helped correct it. Another thing that I appreciate is that from one lesson to the next, the volume of work is challenging enough that I feel I am making progress, but not to the point that I am overwhelmed. Also, even though I am just beginning and the pieces are not that complex, she explains the musical interpretation in a way that not only helps me advance my skill but also enriches the way I understand and listen to music, and I find great value in that. Her manner of teaching is very organic, and she is a patient teacher with a warm presence. I wholeheartedly recommend her lessons! ”

“ I have been learning with Anne for almost 8 months now. I cannot even begin to thank Anne for her amazing teaching skills and how much she has helped me. I have struggled with French for years and I finally found a teacher who both pushed me but is also patient and accommodating to my needs. I was also hesitant at first to have an online teacher, but her teaching methods and skills actually made it easier that she was online, also in terms of managing my time and schedule with her, I did not feel that anything hindered my progress having her online. Her great personality and experience as a teacher overall further helped with my fear and difficulty in learning French, and having her as an online teacher. And finally, she has a great teaching structure and a curriculum and material (which was important for me) to provide for the student through structured classes, while taking into account the strengths and weaknesses of the student. Thank you very much Anne for everything. ”
