To me: I graduated from high school in 2019 and am now studying Japanese Studies and Philosophy at the University of Cologne out of interest, but would ultimately like to become a teacher. I lived in America for many years as a child, so English is practically my second mother tongue. During my school days I already gained experience of English tutoring with several tutoring students and would now like to give tutoring again to finance my studies. About my method: I work very individually with each student, ie when I get to know a student for the first time, I listen to him and look at his previous work materials. A few exercises and an honest conversation often tell me where I can help. I like to prepare for a lesson, but during the lesson I give free rein to my impulses and improvise in order to be able to respond to the student as much as possible. My methodology consists of my own motivation and enthusiasm to learn languages and the ability to spread it. I also offer genre language training for adults and help them learn the language. When, where, how much:

Would you like to brush up on your English or learn small talk? Do you need business English for the job and negotiations? Or do you need an individually tailored exam or high school preparation? Very happy - with a lot of expertise and enthusiasm! :) I am a young, cheerful English and sports teacher with a master's degree (grade 1.1), many years of tutoring experience and work experience at the university. I offer support for all motivated English learners - individually adapted, experienced and digital. My principles: - INDIVIDUAL: Individual support is the most important thing for me - I look at your level of knowledge so that we cannot repeat anything unnecessary and work directly on your weak points! - INSPIRED: Learning can be so much fun - and that's a priority for me. I always make sure that the topics are as exciting as possible for you and that joy is never neglected! - AUTHENTIC: in addition to the language of instruction (English), in my opinion it is also authentically open to communicate: do you suddenly feel tired, overwhelmed, underwhelmed? Open communication leads to a better learning result and flexibility is the be-all and end-all! - STRUCTURED: I prepare myself individually for each hour and always plan courses based on current learning theory findings - at the same time, of course, I also pay attention to your individual inclinations in terms of structure and spontaneity. - HEALTHY: nobody is sitting with me for more than 30 minutes. I ALWAYS plan 2-3 minutes of breaks in between and am always happy to give other health and exercise tips for those interested, as this is my second great passion :)

Hello there. I am Erdem, I have been tutoring students on math and physics for the last 6 years. I studied Physics in Istanbul Bogazici Uni, Turkey. Currently I am doing a masters on Atmospheric Physics at the University of Cologne. 6 years ago, I started tutoring because it is a very fun job to do. I liked seeing students learn things that they had not been able to learn before. Seeing those 'aha' moments when it finally 'clicks' for them makes me want to continue this work forever. Sometimes students have a hard time understanding some concepts. The reason is typically the fact that they miss some vital information from the previous topics, and they don't know what they don't know. I think my most important job as a tutor is figuring out what they don't know, and help them fill the blanks in their knowledge. Note: Unfortunately I don't speak German at the moment, (Although I am working on it) I can tutor only in English or Turkish. I give my lessons face to face in Cologne, or online via Zoom. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send me a message. Hope to see you in class :)

In my Oboe lessons I like to focus on the individual needs of the student, for instance breathing technique, posture, the embouchure, or finger work. I set my lessons around the music my students are learning and focus on creativity within the music and exploring the different ways of musicality, so that my students can have a wide skill set of phrasings, dynamics and articulations. I include reed making in my classes depending on the student's ability with the instrument, and I am very happy to provide reeds as well as an extra service. When I teach piano, I include a range of different styles in my lessons. For beginners, I work from various books to encourage them to learn how to read notes on the page as well as playing freely. I also include melody writing which makes the process of learning notes and music easier and more exciting for the student. I work on posture, finger work and different ways of expression on the instrument which gives the student a choice of how to perform and different ways of expressing their musicianship. I coach abilities from complete beginner to intermediate. I can work in both German and English.
