Market Making Interview Prep: Mock Interviews with Honest Feedback
From 59 C$ /h
When I interviewed with Optiver, Flow Traders, DRW, Maven Securities and All Options, I prepared seriously. At my desk I could solve the probability questions and the mental maths without much trouble. In the real interview, with someone watching and the clock running, I got nervous and made mistakes I normally wouldn't. Looking back, what I needed wasn't more theory. I needed practice under real conditions, with someone telling me exactly where I went wrong.
That's what these sessions are for.
Each session is a mock interview in the style used by the major market making firms, followed by detailed feedback. We work on:
Mental maths under time pressure
Probability and expected value questions
Market making games: quoting a two-sided market, updating as new information arrives, managing your position
Betting and decision games
Estimation questions
Explaining your reasoning out loud, clearly and calmly
Behavioural questions like "why trading?" and "why this firm?"
How a session works
A short warm-up, then a mock interview at real pace. After that we go through it together: where you lost time, where your reasoning wasn't clear, how you handled pressure, and what to drill before the next session. You leave with a concrete list of things to work on, not just a score.
If you're earlier in your preparation, we can start with the foundations and build up to full mocks.
Who it's for
Students and recent graduates applying for trader and trading internship roles at market making and prop trading firms.

About Me
I’m an MSc Finance student at Bocconi with an Engineering background, a GRE Quant score of 170/170, and CFA Level I. I also have two years of work experience across KPMG and UniCredit, including structured credit.
My teaching style is interactive and focused on understanding concepts properly. I encourage students to ask questions freely, even the very basic ones, because those are often the key to building a strong foundation.
I like to explain the why behind a concept and then reinforce it with practice. I prepare lessons and questions based on the student’s level and goals, and I encourage regular practice so that the learning actually sticks.
I’m patient, encouraging, and I genuinely enjoy teaching. I also have previous teaching experience from my bachelor’s degree.
My goal is simple: help you understand the subject clearly, build confidence, and become comfortable solving problems on your own.

Do you find maths hard? Maybe you can follow the steps and get the right answer, but the moment a question looks slightly different, you're stuck.
I have always believed maths feels hard when you can't see it intuitively. If you don't understand the concept, you might still solve the problem, but you haven't really learned it. That is why the formulas fall apart under exam pressure.
How I teach?
I build every topic from the ground up. Before we touch a formula, you should know why the topic exists and what problem it solves. I use visual aids to show the maths in action: what a distribution actually looks like, what a confidence interval is really telling you, why a regression line sits where it does.
Each lesson combines concept building with practice. Once the idea is clear, you work through problems while I watch where your reasoning breaks down, and we fix it at that point. Practice sets between lessons give you the repetition that makes it stick.
If you are preparing for an exam, send me your syllabus, past papers and problem sets before the first lesson so I can build sessions around the exam you are actually sitting. If you are learning for your own interest, we set the pace and direction together.
Who this is for?
University students in economics, finance, management or engineering preparing for an exam or resit, professionals who need statistics for work, and anyone who wants to understand maths properly or start enjoying it.
What topics do I cover?
Descriptive statistics, probability and distributions, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, linear and multiple regression, time series basics, and the statistics components of finance and economics degree courses.
If you want to understand the concepts and not just memorise them, book a lesson.
Lessons in English, online or in person in Milan.

Course description
Maths makes sense when you can see it. In my lessons I use visual teaching aids like diagrams, graphs and step-by-step sketches to show why a method works, not just how to follow it. Students understand faster, and because they've seen the idea rather than memorised a rule, it stays with them long after the lesson, right up to exam day.
I have over a year of teaching experience, and I'm friendly and patient. Students are encouraged to ask any question, even the basic ones, and if an explanation doesn't click, I'll try a different one until it does.
A-Level Maths
I cover the full A-Level syllabus: algebra and functions, trigonometry, differentiation and integration, vectors, statistics and mechanics. We build understanding first, then practise with past papers so students know exactly what to expect in the exam. Lessons follow your exam board, whether that's Edexcel, AQA or OCR.
Homework help
We work through homework together, so students learn how to solve the problem rather than just copying the answer. The goal is for them to handle the next assignment on their own.
