About Me
I am Stefano, an Italian lyric tenor, with an international career developed in many of the most important theatres and festivals in Europe and the world.
During my career, I have performed many roles from the great repertoire, including Alfredo in *La Traviata*, the Duke of Mantua in *Rigoletto*, Don Carlo, Gabriele Adorno in *Simon Boccanegra*, Macduff in *Macbeth*, Manrico in *Il Trovatore*, Riccardo in *Un Ballo in Maschera*, Rodolfo in *La Bohème*, Don José in *Carmen*, Edgardo in *Lucia di Lammermoor*, Werther, Pinkerton, Faust and several other major roles from the tenor repertoire.
I have had the opportunity to sing in institutions such as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Opéra Bastille in Paris, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Royal Opera House in London, the Arena di Verona, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, La Fenice in Venice, the Teatro Regio di Torino, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Grand Théâtre de Genève and many other major international stages.
Today I wish to pass on some of this experience to singers who wish to progress in their vocal and artistic practice.
Teaching represents for me the opportunity to share what the stage has taught me over the years: to better understand one's instrument, to work intelligently and methodically, to build a repertoire adapted to one's voice and to learn to approach a score and a character with a true musical and theatrical vision.
I wish to support each singer in serious, personalized and concrete work, putting my professional experience at the service of their artistic development.
### My method
My teaching method is directly based on the experience I gained during my career as a professional tenor on major Italian and international opera stages. Each voice has its own characteristics and must be supported with a personalized approach, attentive to the needs, level, and goals of each singer.
The work can focus on vocal technique, breathing, support, emission, resonance, freedom and projection of the voice, but also on musicality, legato, diction, phrasing and interpretation.
For me, vocal technique is never an end in itself: it must allow the singer to better serve the music, the text and the expression of the character.
Particular attention is paid to repertoire work and role preparation. Experience from numerous productions of Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti, Massenet, Gounod and other great composers allows us to approach the repertoire from the real demands of the stage: style, score, language, musical phrase, characterization of the character and coherence of the interpretation.
The work can be adapted to the needs of students in training, young singers, advanced singers or professionals preparing for an audition, competition, concert or new role.
My goal is to convey a concrete experience of the stage and to help each singer develop a free, balanced and expressive voice, while building a personal and musically sound interpretation.
