About Me

I started playing music at the age of six and have been connected to music ever since. What I enjoy most about teaching is helping someone go from their very first sounds on the violin to actually playing music they enjoy.

My lessons are relaxed, encouraging, and adapted to each student. If you've never played an instrument before, that's absolutely fine — we'll start from the beginning and take everything step by step.

I believe learning the violin should feel rewarding rather than stressful. My goal is to help you build a good foundation, gain confidence with the instrument, and most importantly, enjoy making music.

Children and adults are both welcome!

Education

I started studying music at the age of six and entered the Tehran Conservatory of Music at eleven, where I received several years of formal training in violin and classical music.

I later continued my violin studies at university, focusing on violin performance.

Experience / Qualifications

I have several years of experience teaching violin to both children and adults, with lessons adapted to each student's individual level and goals.

I have also performed with orchestras and ensembles in Iran and the Netherlands, giving me experience in both individual and ensemble playing.

In my lessons, I focus on building a solid and comfortable technique, developing musicality, and helping students become more confident and independent with their instrument.

Hello! My name is Ana, I am 32 years old and I am a violin teacher with 10+ years of teaching experience working with children and adults, specializing in creating a supportive environment for beginners and advanced players. I am based in Maastricht and I teach at my violin studio in Scharn.

My teaching focuses on developing solid technique and musicality in a friendly and encouraging environment. I help students build a strong foundation and enjoy music-making. Over the years I have developed my own teaching method which includes elements from ABRSM, Trinity, Suzuki and Galamian methods, as well as covers standard violin repertoire. This makes learning structured and fun. For optimal development, I organize frequent lessons with the piano accompanist as well as a two class concerts per year in various locations in Maastricht, where everybody is welcome to join and support! Because I am always fully committed to my students, I like to study each case individually and prepare for each lesson beforehand.

A bit about my teaching background: both my parents are violin teachers, so this is my world since I can remember. As soon as I started conservatory in London I started teaching privately and in a music school while I was studying performance and music pedagogy. I am proud to have very high-level students that have pursued a career in music and have become exceptional violinists.

I currently divide my time between teaching violin and playing as Co-Principal second violin at Philharmonie Zuidnederland, as well as freelancing in other orchestras like Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonisch Orkest and Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest. I gained my Bachelor's Degree from the Royal College of Music in London with a specialization in teaching and a Master's Degree from Musikhochschule Lübeck. I was an academist at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2017/2018.

Lessons can be in Dutch, English or Spanish.

Spanish lessons available! All ages. If you want to learn spanish, writing, reading and speaking feel free to contact me and start to learn this beautiful language. The lessons will be in Spanish but if you do not understand something I will help you in another language but slowly we will increase the amount of Spanish speaking. The classes are dinamics and you will also have fun.

Online courses through Zoom and Microsoft Teams; all levels or at the teacher's place.
In the beginning of the lesson I explain what we will do during the lesson, which is exclusively prepared for you according your needs and wishes; and I always ask for your feedback.

I use the method: Inlíngua, the "Português XXI" European Portuguese and “Falar...Ler...Escrever” for Brazilian Portuguese and much more: short films, songs, dialogues, PowerPoints etc.

In the Netherlands, I received my Master's Degree in Viola at the Maastricht Conservatory.

The most important thing for me to begin with is to know the purpose and level of the student. After that we choose a teaching method together.
I learn all the skills in different ways (games, videos, books...) The lesson never gets boring. We speak Spanish or Dutch from day one. Hello! Would you like to learn how to play a string instrument? I am a professional violist who could teach you the secrets to master viola or violin performance.

My name is Sofija and I am a pianist currently studying at Conservatorium Maastricht.

I believe that music helps us to develop skills and qualities such as patience, accuracy and sensitivity that we all need in our daily life. It can be also a great way to connect to other people or to yourself.

In the lessons we will focus on your needs and wishes both if you are a beginner or an advanced player. A tenured violinist at the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège and a graduate of the Geneva University of Music (Bachelor), the Amsterdam Conservatory (Master) and the IMEP in Namur (Master in Pedagogy), I have 10 years of teaching experience. I teach classes for all ages and levels (French or English), no musical knowledge is required and the repertoire can include any style of music. If necessary and in parallel with violin lessons, I can give music theory lessons. I travel to your home (Liège and surrounding areas) and I have a vehicle. Welcome to my profile!

My name is Fabiola, and I am a violin and viola teacher and children’s orchestra conductor based in Maastricht. I work with students of all ages, creating a supportive, creative, and personalized learning environment where each student can grow at their own pace and enjoy making music.

As an active orchestral performer, I bring my professional experience on stage directly into my teaching. I help students develop a solid technique while fostering musicality, expression, and confidence. I use a variety of teaching approaches, including Suzuki, ABRSM, Trinity, and Galamian methods, adapting them to each student’s age, personality, and goals.

In my lessons, I also focus on how to practice effectively at home, tackle challenging passages, and prepare confidently for public performances.

I began my musical journey with El Sistema in Venezuela and continued my studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, specializing in both performance and pedagogy. I completed a Master’s in Violin Performance with a focus on Spanish music, as well as a symphonic master’s in collaboration with the Spanish Radio and Television Orchestra (Orquesta RTVE).

I currently collaborate with the Philharmonie Zuidnederland and the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, while also teaching private violin and viola lessons. I believe that discipline and enjoyment go hand in hand, and I enjoy guiding each student in their artistic and personal growth.
