Helping singers from beginners to advanced develop their singing voices whether you have sung before or not. A step by step approach.
From 184 C$ /h
Every lesson is one-to-one and built around your voice, not a fixed method. We start by listening: what your voice does well, where it tightens, and what you want from singing. Then we work on the foundations that change everything: breathing that supports rather than pushes, releasing tension in the throat and jaw, and finding a tone that is free and your own.
A typical lesson begins with a warm-up tailored to you, moves into technical work, and then applies it to a song you want to sing. You leave with a few clear exercises to practise, never a long list.
I work especially well with adult beginners who have always believed they can’t sing, choir singers who want more freedom and stamina, people returning to singing after many years, and performers preparing for auditions and concerts. Classical, musical theatre and popular styles are all welcome.

Extra information
My teaching draws on classical vocal technique, adapted for every style and level. I focus on breath management, freeing the larynx and jaw, resonance, and healthy registration, always connected to real songs rather than exercises alone. Students receive short, targeted exercises to practise between lessons. My book, Your Voice Isn’t Broken, explains the ideas behind my approach and is a useful companion for students.

About Me
I’m a professional singer with more than twenty years on stage. I completed Postgraduate Diploma Studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester in 1999, studying with Professor Anthony Roden, after training privately in South Africa with Prof. George Kok and soprano Marita Napier. I also took masterclasses with Mark Oswald, formerly of the Metropolitan Opera, and the South African dramatic soprano Carla Pohl.
My opera work includes Der Rosenkavalier (1986), Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor in South Africa (1989), Der Freischütz (1990), La Bohème (1999) and Idomeneo in Germany (2018). In concert I have sung at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester with the BBC Philharmonic and the Hallé, and recorded with the BBC Singers, with a repertoire spanning opera, operetta, oratorio and musical theatre.
Since 2019 I have run a private singing studio in Luxembourg, teaching adults one-to-one in person and online. I’ve also written a book on why so many adults believe they can’t sing, and what actually changes when they learn how the voice works. " Your Voice Isnt Broken."
