About Me

Wai Yu was graduated from the Education University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Arts and Culture (Music).
She was awarded the ATCL Performance Diploma by the Trinity College of Music in London, UK, and the ARSM Performance Diploma after learning from Phyllis KAO Shu since 2014. From the time she was a student, Wai Yu has been actively involved in piano education in various districts, Music Centre and private teacher.

Since 2017, had served as the obligatory piano player for the Hong Kong Principal's Choir, accompanying original works by the Hong Kong Principal's Choir.

2018 Wai Yu became the choir conductor of the Swedish Church (Hong Kong), responsible for conducting St. Lucia’s celebrations and regular exercises at St. John’s Cathedral.

In addition to extracurricular activities, Wai Yu, who had served as a music substitute teacher at primary and secondary School.

Education

ATCL, ARSM, BA Music

Wai Yu was graduated from the Education University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Arts and Culture (Music). She was awarded the ATCL Performance Diploma by the Trinity College of Music in London, UK, and the ARSM Performance Diploma and Grade 8 Certificate in Music Theory from the Royal College of Music. Wai Yu once went to Luleå University of Technology in Sweden as an exchange student. She majored in piano performance with Helge Kjekshus, minored in organ and oboe performance at Piteå School.

Experience / Qualifications

From the time she was a student, Wai Yu has been actively involved in piano education in various districts, including Hong Kong Academy (Sai Kung), Music centre and private teacher.

Since 2017, Wai Yu had served as the obligatory piano player for the Hong Kong Principal's Choir, accompanying original works by the Hong Kong Principal's Choir. 2018 Wai Yu became the choir conductor of the Swedish Church (Hong Kong), responsible for conducting St. Lucia’s celebrations and regular exercises at St. John’s Cathedral.

In addition to extracurricular activities, Wai Yu, who had served as a music substitute teacher at Maryknoll Convent School (Secondary Section), not only teaches knowledge at all levels in the daily music class, but also gives DSE students the guidance of instrumental music and manages choir rehearsals.
