Cello lessons and Solfege. Teaching classical and popular music, jazz and traditional Balkan music with a lot of improvisations!
From 128.59 C$ /h
Hello, I'm Vartan, a cellist with a great orchestral experience.
Before moving to Geneva, I worked for over twenty years in the Radio Symphony Orchestra in Belgrade (SORTS). I have also performed at the Belgrade Opera, in many chamber ensembles and musicals. In parallel, I went to classes in jazz, world music and ethno (Balkan music) where I learned different rhythms and improvisation which helped me to develop my understanding of classical music and music in general. I will try to pass all this experience on you and beside improving your techniques, I will try to help you to understand music better!

About Me
I approach each student individually, of course, but the ultimate goal is music as a universal language. The technique of playing an instrument is very necessary, but only for the purpose of being able to express ourselves as well as possible in musical speech. Music can be approached using a mathematical or physics method, but with a note that there are no exact rules, that is, we are the ones who create those rules or tasks and at the same time we find a solution, and that is the beauty of music itself. In other words, absolute freedom in creating a new or another dimension.

Experience / Qualifications
I worked for over twenty years in the Radio Symphony Orchestra in Belgrade (SORTS). I have also performed at the Belgrade Opera, in many chamber ensembles and musicals.
Since I came to Geneva, I have also been playing very different styles of music. Among the classical ones, I single out the musical group "Les Perles des Balkans" and the cello orchestra "Leman Cellos". Other bands range from reggae to jazz and afro styles.
Also, both in Belgrade and here, I give private lessons, for a time I had a class at the Maison des Arts "La Julienne".
I am a member of AMR in Geneva.
