I offer private lessons in: grammar, syntax, vocabulary, speaking and writing, phonetics, conversation, current events, DELF and DALF exam preparation, etc. I can also provide knowledge of Francophone literature, the humanities, theater, and other arts. Speaking English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese also allows me to better understand students' difficulties.

My courses are based on listening to learners' needs, using effective teaching methods, and employing a dynamic approach and immersion in the French language! Of course, learners are expected to do some independent work, without using AI or any other application, in order to learn more effectively, practice, and exercise their own brainpower! And there's no age limit to learning!

For the past two decades, I've had the privilege of tutoring in both French and English. My students have ranged in age, background, and origin, spanning children, teenagers, adults, professionals, and even seniors aged 85 and above.

You might wonder why I teach both languages. Well, I am bilingual, with American and Swiss/French roots, and I currently reside in Ireland. This unique blend of experiences equips me with a strong and relevant teaching approach. I possess an intimate understanding of both cultures, enabling me to tailor my classes to the specific needs of my students.

My teaching journey began during my time studying social work in French-speaking Switzerland. I started offering private French and English lessons to supplement my income, and I quickly discovered my passion for it. Even after graduating and embarking on a full-time career, I couldn't bear to give up this rewarding activity. I cherished the opportunity to connect with diverse individuals and assist them in achieving their language goals.

In my teaching methodology, interactivity takes center stage. I employ a variety of engaging learning tools, including photos, newspaper articles, music, videos, and more. My approach is highly adaptable, with a focus on addressing each student's unique priorities. Some seek to refine their pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary, while others require assistance with presentations or speeches for school or work. Some simply aspire to acquire a new language to enrich their general knowledge. I also specialize in teaching younger children, a testament to my educational background and experience.

What you will gain from my courses extends beyond impeccable pronunciation and enhanced vocabulary and grammar. You'll also acquire a profound understanding of the culture associated with each language. When speaking a language, it's essential to appreciate the lifestyle, traditions, and heritage of the nations where it thrives. French and English are spoken as primary languages in numerous countries worldwide, each with its own unique accent and cultural nuances. The learning process is limitless!

In addition to my language instruction, I'm a genealogist and host spiritual (non-religious) seminars in the beautiful West of Ireland. My passion for vegetarian and vegan cuisine adds a flavorful dimension to my life. Furthermore, I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education and have operated a private "Before & Afterschool" facility along with Summer Camps catering to children aged 4 to 12 for many years.

I am genuinely excited about the prospect of meeting and working with you!

Communication is the most versatile and sought-after skill today. Whether it's to succeed in an oral exam, convince during a job interview, lead a professional meeting, or simply overcome shyness and express oneself clearly, speaking is something that can be learned and practiced.

I offer you tailored support to unlock your potential, structure your thinking and give impact to your interventions, both oral and written (in person or online).
The strategic focus of our work:
Ease and Oral Eloquence: In-depth work on non-verbal communication (posture, gaze, gestures) and paraverbal communication (voice management, intonation, rhythm, silences).

Managing stage fright and stress: Breathing and grounding techniques to overcome the fear of public speaking and transform stress into positive energy.

Structuring techniques: Learning impactful argumentative structures. How to capture attention from the first few seconds, maintain audience interest, and conclude with a powerful message.

Written expression techniques: Clarity of style, choice of vocabulary, writing of professional emails, reports or impactful speeches.

I am a trained French teacher with a degree in linguistics. I have been teaching since 2012 and I support candidates in improving their French and preparing for official exams.

The preparation is fully tailored to your level, the date of your exam and the skills you need to strengthen.

We are working on the different challenges:
- listening comprehension;
- understanding of written texts;
- written production;
- oral production.

The goal is not only to improve your French, but also to understand what examiners expect and to learn how to respond effectively to exam instructions.

Depending on your needs, we can work on methodology, organization of ideas, argumentation, grammar, vocabulary, time management and correction of written or oral productions.

Exercises and practice topics may be offered between lessons to track your progress and identify areas that require more work.

As the exam approaches, we can also carry out simulations under conditions close to the real test, particularly for oral production.

Before we begin, simply tell me the diploma and level you are preparing for, the scheduled date of the exam, and the difficulties you wish to work on as a priority.
