Athanasia is an award-winning composer and pianist, originally from Greece. Athanasia has 7 years of experience in teaching piano privately. She can teach in English, and German. She is passionate about teaching as she feels it as her obligation to give back some of the knowledge, she has received from her own music teachers! She also finds teaching to be a stimulating experience and loves learning from her own students. She believes that learning is a never-ending process for a musician, and hopes to spend her life playing, writing, and learning more about music! Since October 2023, he is a PhD candidate at the Doctor Artium at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. In 2020, she completed her studies in Composition at the Royal Northern College of Music. In 2017 she obtained a Diploma in Piano Performance from the Dimitris Demopoulos Music School, in Kozani, Greece. Teaching Piano Athanasia teaches piano from beginners to advanced. All ages welcome! She believes in teaching in a way that encourages and emphasises every student's musical strong suits; everyone has their own musical personality and the role of a teacher is to bring that out and facilitate the student's own personal growth. Athanasia's priority, especially for beginner students, is to make sure they are on firm grounds with technique, music theory and music-reading skills. However, she is always careful not to inhibit the student’s natural musicality with an overload of technical information; balance between musicality and technique is key. She is also in favour of introducing sight-reading quite early on, as she thinks that the earlier a student takes it up, the easier and less daunting it will be for them in the long run. Since she is a composer, Athanasia is also enthusiastic about introducing her piano students to improvisation and composition. She finds that it is good activities especially for younger students, as it helps establish a more intuitive, natural relationship with the instrument. Not to mention it is very fun! A typical lesson would begin with the student performing the work(s)/study(s) they have been working on for the past week. Then Athanasia will make some comments, and together student and teacher work on improving the performance, in terms of technical problems, reading difficulties and musicality. Depending on the duration of the lesson, there might also be a short sight-reading and an improvisation session. At the end of the lesson, the new goal for the week will be set. Genre Athanasia specialises in classical music, but can also teach beginner level in pop/rock genres. First Lesson In the first piano lesson, Athanasia likes to have a chat with the new student. She introduces herself, and asks the student to speak about themselves. She is also interested to know more about their musical background (if any), and the reasons why they want to take up piano. It is important for Athanasia to know from the start what the student's intentions are, i.e. if it is a hobby for them, if they have professional aspirations, or if they are not sure yet! She then usually introduces the student to some basic knowledge on the structure of the piano, such as the sound- producing mechanism, the names of the parts etc; the piano is quite a complex, big instrument and can look quite daunting, so a bit of familiarity with it helps start things off. The rest of the content of the first lesson would depend on the level and age of the student. When starting a new activity, it always takes a bit of time to feel familiarity. For the first few lessons, Athanasia will follow the pace that the new student will be comfortable with. It is important to remember that in music we are all learners, and any beginner should feel as if they have just taken their first step in an exciting long journey!

Hi, I'm Karoline! I have a Bachelor of Education from the University of Music and performing arts Vienna and have been teaching for several years. Whether you are a complete beginner (of any age) or have been playing for many years - my lessons will be customized to fit you personal needs and goals. For me the most important thing is to pass down my passion for the instrument and music and to teach you how to be confident with your instrument. I can also prepare you for exams (i.e. entrance exams for a music university) and teach lessons in music theory and ear training. In my lessons I like to occasionally use methods from elementary music education, which focuses on musical expression. That way you can practice to express yourself and your feelings on the instrument and the typical fear of mistakes is being avoided. I teach in a beautiful room with a grand piano near the Belvedere. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I look forward to meeting you and making music together! :)

I have more than seven years of experience in teaching violin, viola, music theory and complementary piano, so no matter what level you are, I can teach you from the ground up. I specialized in classical music but I can also help you to play and learn your favorite songs. I find it very important to connect mind and body with the instrument, so I like to emphasize from the beginning on relaxation and proper postures to avoid pain or contractions later on. I like to develop a series of relaxation and stretching exercises before and at the end of each class. I believe that music should be a source of joy and enjoyment before anything else. I don’t have a definite method, as I think I have to adapt to the needs and aptitudes of each student. I can give individual and group lessons (no more than 4 people), so I can also work with small groups.

I am a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music has been featured in publications such as The Huffington Post, BBC and WRAL. I have written and co-written songs that have accumulated tens of millions of streams. I am represented by Kobalt/AWAL (Lauv, Bruno Major, Tom Misch), Maximal Music Sync (Candi Staton, North Star Media), Music Table South Korea, and Sixtyfour Music London and have co-written with Richard Walters (Declan J Donovan, 3lau, Alison Moyet, Grey's Anatomy, CSI) and breakout Dutch artist Judy Blank. Alongside releasing my own material, I am also a session pianist, writer and guitar player who has worked for many clients in studios both in Europe and the States, as well as on tours worldwide including major festival slots and tours in the UK, Europe and the States. ---------- I primarily am interested in teaching people to develop their own sense of artistic identity, and am keen to mentor pupils who are already making headway in their own progress as a musician or in the music industry. I am able to offer key insights into the industry that many other teachers aren't able to, and I am passionate about people who are passionate about music. I consider my experience incredibly valuable to those serious about making headway in the industry and see my classes to be more of a personal and bespoke teaching service than traditional piano/guitar lessons, and have a slightly higher price point accordingly. I have also achieved Grade 8 (ABRSM) in piano. I am moving back to Vienna in April, and will be taking on students from mid-April onwards. ---------- I have been tutoring for the past 6 years, and have had pupils of all skill levels and ages. I have taken pupils through traditional grading in the UK (both ABRSM and Rockschool) and also taught people who are only interested in learning an instrument vocationally. Over these years I have helped pupils develop proficiency and passion in piano, guitar, songwriting, production, as well as offering advice on booking tours, forming bands, and helping develop a sense of musical identity. ---------- My approach to each client is unique, but I primarily focus on encouraging artistic expression and open communication in my sessions. I value the ability to give others the opportunity to create, and I like to treat my lessons as a safe space for ideas, for singing, for performing, and for chatting about all things musical. I look forward to hearing from you.

If you have difficulties in a certain subject area, need help with homework or are preparing for an exam or the Matura, you have come to the right place. I give tuition in German, English and biology and would like to pass on my knowledge and enthusiasm in these subjects. You can find my knowledge and experience in these areas below on my profile. Lesson times: Generally I am very flexible. So I'm sure that we can quickly negotiate a suitable time. Place of instruction: From March I can also come to the pupil's home - preferably close to the 7th district (the times will be updated by then or can be negotiated). However, given the circumstances, I prefer online lessons. This is possible at any time - so just send a message and we will work out a time.
