I am an extremely passionate tutor currently teaching Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, and English. I strongly believe that sometimes all that one requires to reach their academic goals is some guidance and encouragement! My students have studied in high school (IB-Diploma and Finnish national line), primary school, and university. I am always happy to teach concepts from scratch :)

I specialise in teaching in the following areas:

- Mathematics (everything ranging from multiplication for young children to trigonometry and sequences IB HL-Math students)
- Economic theory/econometrics, statistics (probability, hypothesis tests etc.), software (Stata)
- English (from English as a second language up to English literature for the IB programme)

My name is Santiago and I am offering individual and personalized virtual English classes to improve both your oral and written communication. The main focus of my classes is focused on developing fluent and structured communication of the English language either to prepare international exams, including the TOEFL and the FCE, or to be able to communicate properly in the professional field or to reinforce and maintain prior knowledge of this language.

I am a graduate, graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in the USA. Having learned English as a child at the Ivy Thomas Memorial School in Uruguay, and lived a year and a half in Thailand, followed by 4 years in the USA I acquired great knowledge and fluency in the English language.

In Thailand I spent a year and a half studying communication arts, which helped me, prepare for my studies in the US. I had several communication classes, learning techniques of how to speak better using not only our words but also our body to help us speak more naturally, calmly, and without getting nervous if we get stuck or forget what we wanted to say. During my career in the US, I was constantly writing essays for my classes, in addition to having to present projects in front of my teachers and classmates. At the same time, I was working at university and after graduation I worked for a year, mainly having long phone conversations with people from all over the country.

Nowadays the ability to communicate in English is essential and I am going to prepare you so that you can meet your goals. It could be, studying abroad, going to live in an English-speaking country, improving your communication in the professional field, or keep practicing so as not to lose the previously acquired level.

I am Ioannis and I am an officially certified math teacher with an inherent passion for teaching the subject.

I have acquired both a Bachelor's (NKUA) and a Master's degree (University of Helsinki) in Mathematics. I have further solidified my status as an officially certified math teacher by completing pedagogical studies (University of Helsinki).

I facilitate online (usually via Zoom) and contact teaching and have significant previous experience in both.

-For online teaching, I use a pen tablet where you can follow my writing without having to spend time coping everything down as I can later share the notes with you. This way you can focus more on understanding!
-For contact teaching, I use the whiteboard that I have.

I am always patient, encourage questions and facilitate in-depth learning. Moreover, I strongly believe that with practice and determination anyone can succeed in Mathematics.

My teaching style is interactive: I ask and I am happy to answer lots of questions to ensure that you really understand the topic discussed. You shouldn't be afraid of giving a wrong answer as making mistakes is a crucial part of the learning process!
