About Me

When it comes to tutoring, I believe that it is critical that the sessions go beyond simply a transaction of information from the tutor to the student. The development of critical thinking, ability to analyze a text and place it in a particular context, effective writing as well as continuous engagement with the respective study material are all fundamental elements that every high school student should have in his or her toolkit. As a result, my approach does not only exclusively focus on a mere surface-level understanding of the material but also developing the necessary skills to successfully use the knowledge gained.

In addition, I also attempt to make the tutoring sessions as intellectually stimulating as possible and interesting for the student. Tutoring is often conceptualized as simply a means to improve in a particular subject that the student is weak at. While that is the primary purpose, I have found out that in my one year experience of tutoring, there is a lot more to be gained from. For me being a tutor means instilling a passion for students for learning and encourage them to harvest a willingness to overcome challenges.

As someone who has been through multiple educational systems, the need for good tutors is extremely high because they can make that difference between success and failure in school, and I consider myself someone who wants to make that difference.

It is true that the philosopher is the friend of wisdom, but above all, he is someone who does not want to make mistakes in reasoning. Philosophizing is a way of reasoning and a way of solving problems that will never have a perfect and definitive solution. Knowing the distance between the Earth and the Moon is not a problem of philosophy, because it is enough to measure to solve it. On the other hand, knowing, for example, what justice is, is a problem of philosophy. A meter will not be able to help us know the answer. We must go about it differently, and in the courses I offer, I will teach you how.

You will learn

- text reading strategies
- case studies with the aim of learning from experts
- methodology in philosophy
- writing an essay
- writing a text commentary
- a work on the philosophers of your choice
- an overview of the history of philosophy
- the general culture necessary to be able to philosophize

I will adapt to your individual needs. Each course is tailor-made. We will analyze where your difficulties lie and together develop a course program that will make you perform as quickly as possible. The basic principle of the courses I offer is dialectics, like Plato's dialogues: reflecting together, making theoretical contributions, asking questions and seeking answers, and testing the validity of reasoning.

For the past 10 years, I have been teaching German using the philosophy methodology, having studied philosophy at the Master's level at Aix-Marseille University. It turns out that the analytical mind is very useful even outside the confines of philosophy. Today, there are even fields of activity such as management with philosophy or philotherapy. In recent years, some German students have asked me to also teach them philosophy courses, and that is why I decided to offer philosophy courses directly.

I look forward to meeting you during a first lesson.

My teaching approach is very versatile and my lessons are crafted to meet the students' unique needs. I will always assess the specific goals a student has and I will design a tailor-made language plan to meet those needs and objectives.
Once the students (beginner scenario) acquire confidence with the language, I encourage them to orally construct phrases based on all the words they know. A good starting point that students appreciate is to describe an image. It is important for me to provide constant encouragement to students and to recognise individual achievements as well as creating the awareness that they can actually start speaking the language from day one.

As soon as you book your session, don't worry about your child's homework.

Fun lessons led by educational games, to learn grammatical rules, verb conjugation and especially communication.
