About Me

I am a young professional who is frequently giving concerts as a recorder and baroque flute player. However, in past years I began to focus on teaching music as well and work as a lecturer in music school, teaching mostly children in the age range 6-19.

Education

I have begun playing the recorder when I was 6 years old and continued with studying it at musical grammar school and high school later on. I ended my recorder studies with a degree in music teaching - DiS.

I have a 6 years of experience in the recorder teaching and for past 3 years I work as a recorder teacher in music school where I lead solo end ensemble lessons.

"Music for Babies" is a course for children from 0 to 4 years and also for pregnant women. Listening to music has a positive effect on the language and reading development of the child.
We will sing songs, listen to music and play with instruments. Each group consists of 5 children with a parent.
Come and make music in a warm homely atmosphere!
The courses start on different days and times. It is possible in Dutch or English.

Hi! I am Candela. I have been studying cello since I was 8. I am currently studying 3erd year of Bachelor in the Royal conservatory of the Hague with Lucia Swarts. Recorder, (baroque) oboe or music theory lessons.
I started with recorder when I was 6 years old and later with the oboe.
I came to the Netherlands in 1999 to study baroque oboe and got my Master of Music degree in 2005.
Since 1997 I have given private lessons (both for oboe and recorder) and am an oboe teacher with the Leer Orkest Amsterdam. I have a lot of experience with children and adult students.
In addition to my activities as a teacher I am also very active as a performing musician
The lessons are for all ages and levels, I can teach at my home or at your home in the The Hague region.

There are two grand pianos at the location in Den Haag.

For children, it is important to develop basic musical skills through Singing, Rythmique, and Ear training besides piano playing. I use one technical exercise book, the main textbook, and a theory book. Through these 3 books, students learn different aspects of music and they naturally get ready for exams and grades.

After acquiring basic skills, students study Harmony and Chord exercises too. These are useful for playing pops and jazz, and they obtain a deeper understanding of classical pieces too.

Private Piano lesson, from age 4 and above. Children can start the lesson after being able to read the numbers from 1 to 5 and the alphabet from A to G.

Advanced students who want to prepare for competitions, auditions, ABRSM, GCSE, IB exams, or the entrance exam of the conservatory.

The concert is held annually together with students of flute, violin, and composition teachers.

For the ages 1-7 years, I have group Rhythmique lessons.

I’m a violinist who just graduated from the Conservatory of Amsterdam, Under Eliot Lawson’s tutoring, and who now studies with Lisa Jacobs.
I have a lot of experience teaching and performing in several countries around Europe.
During my lessons, I hope to not only help you become a better violinist and overall musician, so I will not only give you musical and technical insight, but also a sprinkle of music theory.

Piano Lessons in The Hague
Learning to play the piano is not only an incredibly useful skill but also an enjoyable and fulfilling process. The instrument can be a gateway to understanding and experiencing music, which is why I believe the piano should be made available to everyone.

Children and Adults
If you have a child or know someone who has developed an interest in learning the piano, you'd like to learn it as a second instrument, or you are a working professional who just fancies trying something new, I'd be happy to get you started on your musical journey.

What to expect?
You can learn how to read music, understand simple music theory, play simple chords and scales, develop your own creativity, and can focus on playing some classical/jazz/pop pieces and even work towards taking online performance exams. I will develop enjoyable lessons tailored specifically to you.

Making the first steps
In the beginning, the piano can be very overwhelming! I take a lot of time on the basics as there is always a lot to learn and take in. I use a variety of beginner method books and resources to help you build your confidence in understanding the piano itself, developing your coordination skills, learning to understand the musical notes on the page, developing your musical ear, and understanding basic music theory.

Jazz - Pop - Classical
After having covered the basics of piano playing, theory, and reading skills, many of my students move on to playing classical, jazz, blues, or pop pieces, practicing scales and finger exercises as well as further strengthening their sight-reading skills.

Improvising
Or if you perhaps wish to get away from notes written down on the page I can help you develop your own creativity by understanding theory and applying it to chordal playing, composing and improvising, and playing by ear.

Practical Lessons
From the age of 12, I had classical piano lessons and have always studied the piano as a secondary instrument to the trumpet. I continue to play piano as a hobby and during my studies at the conservatory, I developed an interest in jazz piano playing. You can therefore feel confident that no matter what your interest may be (perhaps you haven't figured this one out yet), I can give you high-quality fun, and enjoyable training in your own interests.

No Piano yet?
There are a lot of options and things to consider when working out how to get hold of or buy a keyboard/piano which can be confusing and sometimes stressful! I am happy to give advice to ensure the choice you make is right for you.

Online Lessons
For the last couple of years, I have been teaching lots of students online. Many have found this way not only to be very suitable but actually their preferred style of learning. Sometimes nothing can be better and simpler than learning in the comfort of your own home. As a teacher, I often find the best solution is a mix of both online and live lessons. We can experiment and find the best solution for you.

Lesson Location
I live in The Hague and teach from my apartment on a Yamaha Acoustic Upright and Electric piano. I'm pretty flexible, so if you're pushed for time or need to work out a better solution, I am happy to travel to another location close by if it's convenient!

I am offering lessons in playing the traverse modern flute as well as historical flutes and music theory at any level, from the beginner to the professional.
This course, based on more than 10 years of experience in teaching, offers private lessons where everyone can find their unique contact with their instrument, deepen their relationship with music and develop a unique way of expressing themselves through music making.
I teach from international method books and adjust my methods to the individual needs of each student. Taking two courses of the Alexander technique also helped me to develop an understanding of the essential connection between the body and our minds. This awareness can be very helpful not only for our musical performances, but also for our everyday lives. I believe that my already 10 years of teaching practice has shaped my teaching into a stage where everyone can learn what they need.

Hi there! I'm Guillermo, Spanish Drummer based in The Hague and a teacher of drums and cajón for all ages and levels.
I like to put a strong focus on helping my students to become the musicians they want to be, whether that means playing along to their favourite songs at home, going on tour around the world or recording music in studios! In order to achieve this I like to make sure the lessons have a good balance between fun personal musical challenges and the various techniques (and bits of theory if needed) that will help you enjoy the most your time behind the drums (or siting on yout cajón!)

My lesson will depend on each student's goal. If you are a student who wants to learn an instrument as a hobby and has never had contact with an instrument before, I will teach you the basics (from holding the violin and bow and playing easy tunes on the violin to teaching how to read notes and rhythms).
If you are a student with years of experience and already know the basics, I can help you with the repertoire you are playing, or give you and prepare new pieces with you, I will help you improve your practice sessions and help you prepare auditions or performances.
