Finally, I can mention that I am a 'stacker' myself, who from the age of 21 to 55 did all his studies in the evenings in addition to a full-time job.

About Me

In the description of the lessons that I offer, I have already gone into my approach a little deeper, so that I will not repeat this here.

I can say that I am a vital retired man who has lived for decades in the Statenkwartier in The Hague (close to the World Forum Congress building) and has been married to Joke for over 50 years.

The blood creeps where it cannot go. There is a great shortage of German teachers in mainstream education, but this does not appeal to me for various reasons.
What I am really looking forward to again is giving individual lessons, where I am strongly intrinsically motivated to get the best out of the student.

This motivation has everything to do with my own past as a so-called 'stacker', who went to evening classes after his military service and only stopped studying around the age of 55.

My motto is therefore 'Nothing is impossible for those who really want to'!

In addition to a long experience in business and education as a German teacher, I have followed courses and had my own practice in coaching, counseling and mediation. As the 1st of my group of students I graduated after a shortened doctoral training in German Language & Literature at the University of Amsterdam. I was also allowed to act as a coach.

I teach in a flexible way and there is always a possibility to bring your own ideas. But first of all, we'll have an intake, so we can talk about your goals, expectations, way of learning and the methods/ books we can use.

We will work together to put your Dutch to a higher level. I will also give you homework which can contain several skills like watching Dutch tv, speaking with the neighbors, reading an article you're interested in and so on. Above all, I hope to make the lessons interesting, fun and informative.

I provide lessons for the Nt2 Staatsexamen and Dutch Nationalisation exam (Inburgering examen)and Business Dutch for ex-pats and people who want to learn everyday Dutch. In the citizenship exam course, students learn about history, geography and basic vocabulary which are the contents of the exam. They learn how to respond to basic questions. Besides preparatory lessons for (Inburgering examen ,citizenship exam ,I teach Business Dutch( Zakelijk Nederlands) to expats. Online lessons are delivered through Google meet and Ms Teams and other online platforms. The lessons are conducted online as well as at a location in The Hague. Both private and group lessons are available.

I take pride in saying that all my students who I prepared for Dutch exams passed their exams with high scores:)

I teach Dutch to children, adapted to the level of the child, the age and the goals that wish to be achieved. The lessons can be given entirely in Dutch, or with explanations and translations in English where necessary (if the child speaks English). With young children I often use cheerful images, games and songs to learn the language in a playful way. From experience, this also works fine online, via video calls.

Hello!
My name is Alice and I'm from Geneva. I just arrived in the Hague to study hospitality management and Business.
I would love to give French, English, or German courses (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, discussion, reading, oral and written comprehension).

As French is my first language and I studied French until I graduated from high school, it's for me more than natural to speak French and teach it.
Having lived in Germany for a few years and having passed exams I was certified with the B2 Telc certificate in grammar. ENGLISH: I have been teaching Turkish and Dutch to local and international adults and their children living in the Netherlands since 2020.
My main motivation for teaching my mother language is to contribute to Turkish children’s bilingual achievement and help Dutch-Turkish people close the cultural gap in their families.
