About Me

Hello there! My name is Teodora and I am a professional cellist based in The Netherlands. I have been playing the cello for the past 20 years and still, I am getting more and more in love with it! If you are reading this, then maybe you feel the same way towards it as I do? Let me tell you a little more about it!

The cello is an extraordinary instrument, creating full, lustrous sounds that are truly sublime and very similar to the range of the human voice. And although it requires a bit of an investment, learning to play the cello is an extremely rewarding activity, generating benefits that last a lifetime. Not only will you develop the aptitude to produce music that comforts, excites, or moves someone, the actual learning process builds skills for the future and develops cognitive advantages in any age cello student.

Music education, especially one that involves learning a string instrument like the cello, is an excellent example of comprehensive learning. By combining mental and physical exercises in a structured way, music training stimulates and strengthens both your physical body and specific areas of the brain, such as memory, reading and math comprehension. Moreover, it also develops marketable skills that will serve you well into the future.

If you’ve recently decided to learn to play the cello or you’re still on the bubble about whether or not to take the plunge, I am definitely the person who can guide you through the beautiful journey of getting to know the instrument and music in general!

Excellent first lesson .. fabulous experienced techer
Teodora has been teaching me to play the cello for half a year now. As a beginner, it was quite a big step for me to start with the lessons. Teodora however, put me at ease right from te beginning. What I like about her lessons is that she is always giving me tips on how to improve specific elements , making my time practicing alone more rewarding and effective. I would recommend Teodora for anyone he would like to start playing the cello.
I’ve been learning how to play the cello from Teodora for over half a year now. I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. She is a very patient teacher, and she always tries to make the learning process a pleasant experience. When I am getting frustrated with my own mistakes, she makes good suggestions on how to improve them in a smarter way. I also like the fact that I have a choice in the repertoire we work on. That way, it rarely gets boring. She is also flexible with the schedule so that I can arrange the lessons after my regular working hours. Looking at the time we have spent together, I can definitely recommend Teodora as an excellent cello teacher.
Very helpful and a teacher with whom one can feel relaxed
I have been taking lessons from Teodora for a while now and she is a very friendly and warm person, as well as a very good cello teacher that knows how to create a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere. I play cello as a hobby and for me it was very important to find a teacher that can adapt to my level. And Teodora does exactly that, I don't feel pressured and have enjoyed every lesson that I had until now. Her technique, style, and way of playing the cello, show that the she has great and in depth knowledge of playing the cello. Thus, for those of you that are playing professionally or aiming do to so, I think that Teodora has much to offer. So check her out, she is amazing.

Cello lessons in a fun, stimulating and dynamic environment
Would you like to know how to play a musical instrument? We all know that the cello is the instrument that resemble the most the human voice. In my lessons you will learn how to read music, how to play the cello and how to play together with other people. Furthermore, I will help you realise whatever your goal with the cello is: learning a specific song, playing in an amateur orchestra, playing with/for friends, or simply having fun with music!

Cello and solfège lessons for children, teenagers and adults in English and Italian.
My experience with teaching began with the pedagogy course at the Prince Claus Conservatory in the Netherlands where I completed my master of music. Thanks to this curricular experience, I was able to come into contact with a world that has left me fascinated and with even more questions. I find the exchange of information and experiences created during a lesson stimulating and engaging. The needs of each student, noticing different personality types and thinking, provides me with the tools I need to become a better teacher. My goal is to create a serene and friendly environment while maintaining a challenging lesson structure to give my students the best quality and quantity of information.

Music History Lessons Tailored to All Needs and Interests
My teaching method is carefully tailored to the specific needs of each student, regardless of the subject we are working on (music theory, cello, music history, analysis, conducting, etc.). The pace of learning is always set by the student, ensuring that each lesson aligns realistically with their goals and interests. Whether you’re looking for a more flexible, amateur approach — open to diverse content — or require a rigorous plan oriented toward exams, auditions, or academic improvement, I design a personalized educational pathway. My approach is rooted in a highly practical vision of learning, based on the educational model in which I was trained during my master’s degrees in Conducting (Antwerp) and Historical Cello (Brussels). I understand teaching as a dynamic process where deep understanding takes precedence over rote memorization.

Guitar workshops: personalized lessons / private training
Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...). For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...). Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points: -Study of various playing techniques, chords, harmony, music of your choice, rhythm, with reading of tablature, teaching structured around the repertoire you like, technique of developing the musical ear - Discovery of the neck, notes and basic positions of open chords - Left / right hand coordination and rhythm exercises for the right hand - Learning of different pieces of your choice - Left hand control exercises, speed and precision - Learning arpeggios - Work around muscle memory - Learning improvisation, musical play with others - Ear training: use your ears to find chords, melodies, sounds and techniques used -Spend a pleasant moment of exchange, without unnecessary institutional pressure, while obtaining concrete results -Understand and discover the many facets of an exciting and user-friendly instrument - Benefit from personalized advice on your posture and certain pitfalls to avoid when starting alone -Adjust and clarify your self-taught knowledge - Learn tablatures / tabs & in English. Note : - Possibility to use the guitar available on site, during the test phase. - As our teacher is also a singing teacher, it is possible to combine the two disciplines: guitar + vocal instrument, and to work on synchronization, style and accuracy. - Possibility of offering this course (birthday, party, Christmas, event ...) to the person of your choice. THE TEACHER : Trained in Grande Ecole post-preparatory classes & Ivy League university in the United States, our teacher has specialized and has worked for more than 15 years, in Europe and North America, in the field, in renowned international public and private establishments, with careful pedagogy and methodology as the watchwords. PLACES : - Locations: Geneva-Lausanne-Friborg-Neuchâtel-Montreux-Bâle-Sion-Sierre-Morges-Bienne. But currently, only by videoconference in accordance with national recommendations on Covid. These sessions also seem to be perfectly unanimous since they have the advantages of direct (example: quality of the interaction), without its disadvantages (ex: loss of travel time), with additional advantages (ex: of notes on the chat, which can be reread afterwards). In this context, these videoconference sessions for which you have requested me, seem to arouse a certain enthusiasm (and a certain enthusiasm). At your request, I therefore continue to offer them.

NEY, NAY, REED FLUTE, LESSONS FOR ALL STUDENTS BY TURKISH TEACHER
Turkish reed flute is an essential instrument of Turkish Classcial Music. It has a deep and dense culture dating from 13. century around. If you want to learn about how to perform it you first need a teacher educated by masters on this field. As of many teachers you can find online but you make sure that not every tutor meets with traditional style. Solfege and method are inseperable parts of the lessons. So for beginners and intermediate students must follow a compotent tutor to learn about the way of classic form.

Cello lessons from Bach to jazz to improvisation
What is important to me in class? Students and teachers should meet at eye level. It's important to me to create an atmosphere in which both feel comfortable and no one feels forced to do anything. Where do I come from musically? It has always been important to me to exploit all the possibilities that my instrument can offer. To be honest, I'm not finished yet, the cello has so many facets to discover! I've tried many different styles. I am currently studying a master's degree in contemporary music at the Basel University of Music. I completed my bachelor's degree in education in Freiburg. This gives me a good basis for teaching the instrument in a playful way and for eliciting creativity from the students. Can you also find me on stage? Yes, mostly with my indie-pop band. We write our own songs, and I'm usually responsible for a good bassline :) But also with Percaso String Quartet, with whom we only play string quartet works by women. Or in Ensemble IPSO, a music theater project in which we try to blend the boundaries between music, theater and dance. And always with solo performances at vernissages. I have a solidarity pricing system, meaning you give me whatever you can around the stated amount. If this applies to you, feel free to write. Lessons at the student’s home and preferably in Riehen.

Classical and modern cello classes in Barcelona
Hello! I've been teaching continuously for over 10 years, and I'd like to explain what you can expect from a class with me. Personalized approach: The most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I will tailor the lessons to your needs: playing for pleasure at home is not the same as preparing for entrance exams (although always with the same rigor). Your goals will influence the methodology, the organization of your studies, the repertoire, and so on. Relaxed (but rigorous) environment: Once you've defined your goals, classes will be dynamic and pressure-free. Note! "Relaxed" doesn't mean undemanding; we'll just avoid military methods—especially given my personality and sense of humor. Music, not just notes: My methods are very dynamic, with a special emphasis on hearing and musicality. No "read, play, and turn the page." I avoid approaches obsessed with reading sheet music without memorizing, listening, or understanding what is being played. I want you to own your performance and make artistic decisions. Warning! I might even make you sing. No stylistic barriers: Thanks to my training in Jazz and Modern Music, I give equal importance to all genres. Adapting to your tastes, we'll go from baroque to blues, from Haydn to bebop... or even Michael Jackson. Why not? If you identify with this approach, contact me! Learning the cello is a pleasure, and I'd love to share it with you!

CELLO & MUSIC LESSONS FOR ALL AGES AND LEVELS WITH A PROFESSIONAL CELLIST WITH 10 YEARS OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE (IN PERSON AND ONLINE)
Are you in love with the sound of the cello but have never dared to start playing it? Have you been playing the cello as an amateur and now need an expert to guide you? Do you want to develop and improve your cello and musical skills? Do you need reinforcement lessons? Would you like to prepare for entrance exams to the conservatory? Would you love to join a youth orchestra and need help preparing for the auditions? ... These are the private cello lessons you were looking for! My name is Miriam, I am a graduate in Master of Classical Music at KASK & Conservatorium in Ghent and currently I am studying a Posgraduate in Musical Performance Practice. I've been teaching cello to children, teenagers and adults for 10 years, so I've acquired the necessary experience to be able to adapt to the different and personal needs and objectives of each student. My teaching methodology focuses on creating a friendly and relaxed environment (which does not mean undemanding!) in which students feel confident to express their own ideas and worries. In my lessons I focus on technical and postural questions, but we also reflect together on the music, as I like my students to develop their own musical ideas and not just imitate the teacher. Contact me now to schedule your first lesson and take the first step toward your musical aspirations! :)

Music Theory and Ear Training Classes - Teoria e solfeggio
Hello! Being a singer and a singing teacher, many many times I have found myself in the situation of having to work on ear training, or solfège, or music theory... or all the above listed! Approaching music and having no clue of these elements can totally be intimidating and off-putting, but in 2023 I feel like it’s a pity that these subjects still are looked at with such a fear. I want to prove to you that building this basic knowledge can be easy, accessible, and not heavy at all! My program is not fixed: I’ll build it on your specific needs, whether they are preparing an exam, curiosity, or getting better at pitch matching... we will discuss it together. I have many books and materials, and I honestly prefer to draw blackboards by myself a lot of times. Unless you want to, I won’t ask you to buy any material, so the only cost that you will have to sustain is for the time of the class.
