I have discovered and proven it times without a number that when a child learns music and majors on one musical instrument especially the piano, the child becomes smarter. I have taught a good number of students, about 20 at different times who are all doing great on the piano now. I always advise that each student should have a piano, or at least an electronic keyboard to always practice with because my scheme is tailored towards practicals a lot.
Recently, I taught a nursing mother of 2 kids how to play with the piano, with much patience and diligence, she now plays the piano.
