About Me
He was born in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1989. After his kindergarten in Yverdon, Iver Pierre moved to Portugal to join and start his elementary school. In 1998, he began his music studies at the Centro de Cultura Musica (CCM) in Porto, in the class of Professor Paulo Silva. After 2 years of training, he joined "Artave", professional music school of "Vale do Ave". During his years at this school, he attended classes with teachers Philip McGuire, Hugo Carneiro, Jose Bernardo Silva and Ricardo Matosinhos.

He has also followed Master Classes with names such as Erik Murphy (United States), Javier Bonet (ESP), Ab Koster (HOL), Bohdan Sebestik (CZ), Mike Garza (USA) and Bernardo Silva. (PT). With the Youth Orchestra of "Sta.Maria da Feira", he won the 3rd place of the "X Certame of bandas musicas de la ciudad de Valencia", in Valencia, Spain.

In 2006, he finished his professional music course and joined his university, "was part of the orchestra that toured Portugal with WA Mozart's opera" Cosi fan tutti ". In addition, in 2007, he began his work as a teacher, with music lessons in Porto in two public schools, teaching music and music training, with students aged 6 to 10 years old.
Unfortunately, Iver Pierre was robbed and, as soon as his instrument was seized, he decided to return to Switzerland. After a few years of training in a technical field in Switzerland, Iver Pierre took over the horn and his studies in 2018.

Meanwhile, Iver Pierre continues his private lessons with the professor of the Conservatory of Music of Porto, Helder Carneiro.

Independent musician, he played for small orchestras and groups, while making the decision to give small lessons at home, parallel to his studies.

As a violinist: I am currently a student at the Geneva University of Music, after having followed the pre-professional course at the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève. During my career, I won several prizes such as the Vatelot Rampal competition in Paris and the Jeunesses Musicales of Switzerland soloist, and string quartet (alongside Julie Berthollet in particular). I also attended the Indianapolis University Academy summer internship.

As a Pedagogue: in addition to sporadically giving individual lessons for 4 years, I was part of the "Jeunesses Musicales of Switzerland" youth and youth internship team for three consecutive years.

Overall, my goal is to allow my students to have fun making music, to express themselves as they wish and hear, with their instrument!
I adapt the rhythm of my teaching, my teaching materials, the choice of songs to each, according to the requests that are made to me. My classes can also take the status of personal work support; in this case, students can obviously bring me their scores worked with their main teacher, or those they play in chamber music / orchestra.

In short: The violin is an art, it learns yes, but we play! :)

Hello, I'm Vartan, a cellist with a great orchestral experience.
Before moving to Geneva, I worked for over twenty years in the Radio Symphony Orchestra in Belgrade (SORTS). I have also performed at the Belgrade Opera, in many chamber ensembles and musicals. In parallel, I went to classes in jazz, world music and ethno (Balkan music) where I learned different rhythms and improvisation which helped me to develop my understanding of classical music and music in general. I will try to pass all this experience on you and beside improving your techniques, I will try to help you to understand music better!

My piano, music theory, and composition lessons are fully tailored to each student's profile and goals. Whether it's a first encounter with music, a return after a long break, or serious preparation for exams or entrance to a conservatory, we will build a personalized learning path together.

My dual training—as a composer and a teacher of the Jaques-Dalcroze method—allows me to approach teaching in a way that is both rigorous and engaging, connecting sound, movement, and the perception of time. I pay particular attention to rhythm and listening, which are the foundation of any solid musical practice.

I work with:

Children: development of basic musical skills, rhythmic and auditory awareness, introduction to reading notes and improvisation

Adults: courses tailored to your goals and pace, in a supportive yet demanding atmosphere.

Conservatory applicants: preparation for entrance exams and ABRSM, targeted work on specific gaps in theory, music theory or instrument

The courses are held in French, English or Russian.

I offer in-home music awakening sessions for young children in Geneva and the surrounding area.

The goal is not to give a lesson in the classical sense, but to open a first door to music: listening, singing, moving, feeling the rhythm, discovering sounds, playing with the voice, gestures, small percussion instruments and the keyboard.

Depending on the child's age, the sessions may include:

nursery rhymes and songs;
rhythm and pulse games;
listening and sound recognition games;
a gradual discovery of the piano;
of movement, musical gesture and coordination;
small ear exercises;
moments of imitation, invention and expression.

For toddlers, especially those between 1 and 3 years old, the approach is very gentle, sensory, and playful. It uses voice, body, sounds, images, play, and repetition. The goal is to create a lively, joyful musical experience adapted to the child's pace.

For slightly older children, around 3 to 6 years old, one can gradually move towards a first discovery of the keyboard: recognizing low and high notes, following a pulse, reproducing small patterns, singing while accompanying oneself, inventing short musical phrases, developing listening and concentration.

My approach is flexible and entirely personalized. Some children need a lot of movement, others need to observe, listen, repeat, or use their imagination. I adapt to their age, energy level, sensitivity, and pace.

I began my musical studies at the conservatory at the age of 7 and completed my training there up to the third cycle. I have been teaching piano and singing for several years, and I have also created children's shows and accompanied singers and dancers. My background allows me to approach music in a dynamic way, connecting rhythm, voice, body, listening, and emotion.

I can provide in-home services for a single child, siblings, or a small group of children, depending on availability. I can also offer occasional or regular sessions in various settings: early childhood centers, nurseries, daycare centers, associations, community centers, or music workshops.

The duration (and the price) will be assessed based on the child's age.

I am currently putting together my schedule for the start of the new term on August 17th, with regular slots available at home.

I travel to Geneva and surrounding areas: Geneva centre, Eaux-Vives, Champel, Plainpalais, Carouge, Lancy, Onex, Cologny, Chêne-Bougeries, Chêne-Bourg, Thônex, Grand-Saconnex, Nations, Petit-Saconnex, Meyrin, Vernier, Versoix.

Possible travel to Nyon, Coppet, Gland, Rolle and La Côte if several sessions are grouped on the same half-day.
