I am a masters student at ETH in Zurich. I have a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and have very good knowledge in Maths and Physics especially. I also took the IB Diploma so I have extra experience there in the style of teaching and examination for the IB exams. I have experience tutoring kids from the age of 8 to 18.

To jump straight to the point, I love mathematics. But, it didn't always come easy to me. In third grade we were tested on the multiplication table and I received the lowest grade in my class. I still remember the shame I felt and I was asking myself how will I ever be good at this subject if I was already doing so poorly. Well, I am a walking example of it doesn't matter how you start, it only matters how you finish. I am now a doctor in Mathematics (obtained my PhD from EPFL in 2022) with over five years of teaching experience ranging from primary school pupils to university students. My secret? I taught myself how to learn. When people talk about mathematics they portray it as a mystical creature that is incomprehensible and untameable. In actuality, it is more like legos. With each bit of new knowledge you gain, you get to build these magnificent worlds of concepts, theorems and operations. I would love to build some lego structures with you. I am a passionate teacher and I care for all my students. Learning mathematics is an emotional exercise. I always considered that being a good teacher is not only a mix of professional knowledge and skills, but also an ability to empathise and build relationships with the students. When asked to complete the sentence “A good teacher should...”, a French pupil responded “listen to us, support us, teach us”. In all my teaching experience, whether at sixth grade or at college and graduate levels, I have found that instead of getting frustrated with my students’ knowledge gaps and misconceptions, I could make my teaching more satisfying and more effective, by recognizing that all the students have learning potential and intellectual curiosity and by encouraging them to get a deeper understanding of the mathematical concepts.
