About Me

I am an architectural, graphical, and interior designer, as well as a musician. I have over 20 years of experience in studying classical piano, starting at the age of 4. I pursued my studies in viola, violin, piano, and composition at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Conservatory from 2003 to 2009. In addition, I am a synesthete, experiencing auditory and visual synapses, which means I see flashes of colored lights whenever I hear sounds.

As a music theory, piano, and Western classical music culture and history tutor, I have both learned and taught extensively throughout my life. Growing up with a brother who is 10 years younger than me, my academic journey has been a blend of learning and teaching experiences.

I enjoy spending time with children and making lessons enjoyable for them. I also take pleasure in providing guidance on more straightforward and smarter approaches to thinking and executing tasks.

My name is Can. I've been teaching guitar for 28 years at all levels. If you want to learn to play the most useful and popular instruments in the music world you can join my lessons.

You can play almost all kinds of genres with the guitar. It is the only string instrument which is really polyphonic. The guitar is like an orchestra. Every instrument of the orchestra is inside the guitar but in a smaller sound size. It has many different colors, many different timbres.

Besides teaching this awesome instrument I will also teach you using the programs that help to improvise, recording, and making music. I will give you books, etudes to develop your speed and precision in a short time. After being advanced we will study different genres like rock, blues, jazz, improvisation and solo transcriptions.

I am Asli, a Classical composition student at Royal Danish Academy of Music studying my Bachelors degree at the moment. I have finished my High school in the Purcell School in London, UK with joint first study composition and piano. I had my pieces premiered internationally such as in London, Birmingham, Rotterdam, Istanbul, Manchester and Copenhagen. I also studied piano as my first study from the ages 7 to 18 and participated in international festivals, Masterclasses and concerts in London, Birmingham, Amalfi, Ankara, Istanbul, Manchester and Glasgow. The kanun is an instrument of the zither family, used historically in various cultures including Arabic, Armenian, Turkish and Greek. I am a professional performer and hold a Bachelor's degree in Musicology from the University of Ioannina (Greece), specializing in the kanun.
