Did you ever ask yourself what your life would look like if you had more confidence?
With me, your goals and self-esteem are my #1 priority.
It’s estimated that roughly 85% of people worldwide have low self-esteem. This can lead to mental health issues such as anxiety and have a dramatic impact on our personal and professional lives.
To combat this, we must take special care of ourselves and I believe that working towards finding our individual voices is a fantastic way to do so. Working on a creative skill cultivates greater emotional health and builds our confidence as we improve.
I’m the right tutor for you if:
You’re ready to take action to build your confidence
You want to overcome fears around performing
You want to expand the range of notes you can sing
You want to discover your voice
You want to improve your vocal tone
You want to stabilise and strengthen your voice
You want tools to manage anxiety and become a better a singer through work on breathing techniques
You DON’T want to spend hours on scales or music theory
I wasn’t born a naturally good singer and have struggled with anxiety for as long as I can remember. I’m now a professional singer and singing coach, signed to a record label with over 3 million streams and although I still experience anxiety, I’m far better equipped to cope with it thanks in part to breathing techniques. It’s safe to say, I know how impactful the right guidance can be.
You can see it in the reviews from my students too - through my coaching, confidence blossoms alongside the voice.
Make this the turning point of your life.
Why not take the first step to building your self-esteem and sign up for your first lesson now?

About Me
Fran has helped to nurture and uplift people with a focus on wellbeing and music, guided by her belief that anyone can sing.
Fran has over 5 years of teaching experience with children under the age of 10, teenagers, adults and retirees. She is experienced at differentiating for those with physical and developmental disabilities.
Alongside private 1-2-1 tuition, Fran has worked as a community singing facilitator, creating safe and uplifting environments for groups of vulnerable adults to learn about singing, movement and employable life skills. She has also created courses and workshops with a focus on music and wellbeing.
Fran has a First Class MMus Postgraduate [Creative Musician], with a focus on the voice, performance and songwriting.
She is signed to SUBTXT Records and Saint in the City Publishing, has been featured on Spotify editorial playlists and garnered over 3 million Spotify streams. She has been featured on the cover of The Crack magazine, received support from Launchpad and Help Musicians UK; performed live on BBC Yorkshire; and also performed on Made in Leeds (TV). She performed at Thomann’s Music Never Stops Festival 2020, Long Division 2019, has headlined 360 Club, Leeds twice and supported Lyves.
The goal is to help you discover your voice and sing confidently, tension free.
To do this we'll focus on the key components of singing well and safely: breathing, posture and primal sounds.
It's also incredibly important that we focus on the music that is meaningful to you, so song choices will be led by you (although I'm happy to choose songs for you if preferred!)
Fran brings her wealth of experience to every lesson, allowing her to truly tap into and provide for the needs of each individual student with practical, hands-on coaching. You can not only expect to dramatically improve as a singer, but to feel your confidence blossom and tap into industry know-how from someone currently operating within it. All this and more!
Press quotes about Fran:
“You connect with the songs on an emotional level; they go straight to your heart, your soul… [on ‘Normal’] It’s perfect, there’s nothing else left to say.” - Local Sound Focus
“discovering Fran Minney’s beautiful songs has amazed and delighted me… Fran has such succulent husky vocals… This dreamy indie-electronica singer/ songwriter has me hooked” - Reyt Good Magazine
“this talented singer-songwriter creates dreamy and delicate music, with earnest lyrics set against bubbly, poppy electronic production work... incredibly lush voice and style” - Richer Unsigned
What do I need to know before my first lesson?
- Lessons are available Monday-Thursday.
- Our first lesson will be spent getting to know each other - I want to hear what you hope to get out of your singing lessons and anything you feel is holding you back so that I can tailor lessons to what you're interested in.
- Please prepare something to sing for me - even if it's just a short section from a song.
- Lesson structure: warm up, technique-based learning, song work, cool down.
- Teaching typically takes place in my home in Headingley. I am able to travel to student's homes (for an additional travel fee) and teach online via Skype.
