Subjects: mathematics, Dutch, English, German, French, Latin, Greek, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, business economics, geography, history and social studies.

What we offer:
• Tutoring and homework assistance for grades 1 through 6
• Exam training for the VMBO, HAVO, and VWO final exams
• Help with planning and 'learning to learn'
• Lessons at our practice in Broek op Langedijk (near Alkmaar and Heerhugowaard) or online via webcam

How it works: we start with no-obligation consultation about your needs. Then, we match you with a teacher who suits the subject and level. No registration fees and no long-term contract; you usually start within 1 to 2 weeks.

Meester Andreas works with a team of 15+ teachers and specialists and is rated 4.9 on Google (250+ reviews).

After tutoring for over 6 years in the Amsterdam area, I am very familiar with the various school curriculums. Having moved around quite a bit, I understand the stress students undergo adapting to new schooling systems. I enjoy working privately with students to build their confidence. I previously was a primary school teacher of all subjects (Grades 1&2) for a private international school in Dubai. I am familiar with international school curriculum and challenges faced by students when moving to a new country.

I have extensive experience with students of all learning levels. I have been privately tutoring for over 10 years now. English is my first language (I am American). I also have experience tutoring at a higher age (as well as university level). I am an excellent writer, editor, and researcher and work part time in UVA's graduate school in the sociology department. I completed my MSc at UVA and undergraduate at UCLA.

Currently, the majority of my students are primary school students who attend the British school or ISA. However, I teach a large number of international school students or older students. I also tutor many students, of various ages, in the Dutch schooling system. I am very comfortable with international school curriculums, however, I also have a good grasp on the Dutch schooling system. While I teach students of various ages and backgrounds, I would consider myself a specialist in primary school students whose second language is English.

I specialise in English (British & American) tuition for native and non-native speakers of all ages, and have experience working with:
• young children learning English for the first time
• primary- and secondary-school students studying the English language and its literatures
• adult professionals and seniors wishing to improve their language skills, or develop pronunciation or presentational skills

I have two degrees in English language and literature (B.A. and Mst) from the University of Oxford, and I am also a graduate of the International Baccalaureate (I.B.) Diploma program. I've developed a creative approach in my sessions with students that involves applying a student's particular talents and interests (regardless of subject) in the process of language acquisition, along with the simultaneous development of critical skills like close and careful reading, argumentation, written style, and effective communication.

I am versed in the requirements and intricacies of a range of national and international diploma programs. When working with students supplementing an academic syllabus, my goal is always to position them to succeed in the assignments and assessments laid out by a primary instructor.

Are you looking for a qualified native English teacher (British) with extensive teaching and business experience? If so, I would love to help you!

I have a very simple teaching philosophy. Every single lesson must be challenging, rewarding, and fun – as the best way to learn is with a smile on your face. I adapt our lessons together to your unique needs and goals, including:

• improving your accent and pronunciation;
• helping you avoid steenkool English and typical ‘Dunglish’ words;
• broadening your vocabulary; and
• perfecting your use of tenses.

Most important of all, I can help improve your confidence, which is the key to learning any language.

A speciality of mine is Business English, so I can also help with everything from preparing for an interview or speaking in meetings, to giving a presentation.

While my classes are 100% in English, I can also speak Dutch and Spanish. This gives me a real insight as to why students make certain mistakes, and how to best avoid them.

Learning languages are always more fun when involving an interaction based on personal interests! That's why I could take a more conventional approach to teaching but I prefer an interactive engaging type of class. We can start with basic daily life based conversations to delving into more detailed and specific contexts, to a level where any types of topics can be covered. Please message me for further info!◡̈

(I can also teach in either French or English, although I will try to speak only in Korean during the class!)

I offer online & face-to-face English lessons in an interactive and communicative way. Each lesson is tailored to your needs and quickly you will build up your language skills and reach your goals.

The materials I use for the lessons are carefully selected from various sources, such as high-quality coursebooks and authentic texts from magazines, newspapers or even comics and video games! Additionally, the interactive software turns the lessons into enjoyable and exciting moments with fun elements by stimulating both the visual and auditory senses.

Approach - I always encourage the student to develop a personal connection to the language by exploring personal interests in English. In my lessons, I favour a practical approach (real-life situations) and use texts, videos and conversation to elicit grammar rules and vocabulary. This positive approach, along with regular practice, will definitely improve your English and keep it active in the long term.
