About Me

I am a native English speaker from the UK with over 20 years’ experience teaching children, teenagers and adults. I hold CELTA and CELTYL qualifications, and I’m also an AMI-trained Montessori teacher with experience in outdoor education.

My lessons are tailored to what each student needs. With adults, I can help you speak more confidently at work, practise conversation, prepare for an interview or improve your fluency. I also teach advanced learners who want to express themselves more naturally and precisely. With children and teenagers, I use fun engaging activities, discussion and clear goals to help them enjoy learning and make progress.

I currently teach students across a range of levels, from young children to professionals working in international organisations. I’m patient, encouraging and practical: we’ll identify what you want to achieve and build lessons around it.

I offer lessons in Geneva and online, and I’d be happy to discuss what you’re looking for.

Education

I hold a CELTA (Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and a CELTYL (Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Young Learners). I’ve also completed Montessori teacher training and Forest School training.

Experience / Qualifications

I’ve been teaching English for over 20 years. During that time, I’ve worked with students of all ages and levels—from young children taking their first steps in English to teenagers and adults developing advanced skills. I’ve taught in schools, small groups and individual lessons, adapting my approach to each student’s needs and interests.

I teach students, as well as adults who want to improve their English for professional reasons.
My experience over the past 10 years has allowed me to develop a simple and effective method that adapts to the needs of the student, taking into account their interests. This way, the student becomes seriously involved and progresses quickly.
My native ear allows me to have a real impact on the pronunciation and accent of the student, without ever neglecting the importance of learning to write. In addition, my experience as a translator allows me to teach the different nuances of the language in the most efficient way possible.

Learn the language of Shakespeare in a fun way. Read classics, play with colors, cross-reference different texts, films, or series, and above all, become an expert on grammar...

Here is the program that we will include with variations depending on the learning profile.

As a French-German and trilingual student (French and German as native languages – English CEC C1), I offer tutoring and homework help for students from primary to secondary I and II (approximately 10 to 20 years old).
I provide support in all subjects, although French and languages are my specialty.

Having already completed several years of tutoring, I have a great capacity for adaptation, and above all, we will build the pace of the tutoring together according to your needs. Furthermore, my experience as an older sister has taught me how to create a reassuring and motivating environment for learning and education.

Each session is fully personalized:
• Review and explanation of concepts not understood,
• adapted exercises,
• Preparation for tests, assessments and exams
• homework help,
• Methodological support (work organization, memorization, writing, autonomy).

I place particular importance on a caring approach to help each student progress, strengthen their skills and gain confidence!

My name is Nicolas, and I'm an English teacher with eight years of teaching experience. I've spoken English since I was a teenager and have continued to practice it through my many travels. My level was further improved during an extended stay in Canada. In 2018, I passed the TEFL Cambridge exam, the English as a Foreign Language Teaching Certificate.

Having also gone through the process of learning to speak this language, I am well aware of the different stages my students go through. This helps considerably.

My courses are custom-built to achieve personal goals and are adapted to the specific needs of each individual.

Practice is prioritized throughout the learning process to foster independence as quickly as possible. Basic grammar and vocabulary concepts are also covered, depending on the student's level.

This course is aimed at:
- Beginners (basics, conversation, travel);
- Intermediate/advanced (improvement, exam preparation: TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC);
- Professionals (business English, interview preparation).

Feel free to contact me for more information.

With pleasure :)

I have been an English teacher for three years, with experience teaching children and adults, both privately and in language schools. I have completed specialized training in teaching beginners, which allows me to tailor my lessons to each student.

I am patient and attentive, and I create a pleasant and motivating learning environment. My goal is for each student to progress with confidence, speaking and understanding English clearly and practically.

My courses are designed for beginners and intermediate levels (A1-B1), for both children and adults. I emphasize a practical and communicative approach, with exercises and activities based on real-life situations. Each session is structured yet flexible, adapted to your pace and goals, so you can use English in everyday life right from the start.

I also emphasize living English, with different accents, common expressions and a bit of slang, so that you understand and speak real and natural English, and discover British and American culture.

Hello,
I offer business English lessons for those who are interested. First, I consider my clients' needs. I follow a formal curriculum: the lessons are based on listening comprehension, reading, and conversation. The lessons are enhanced with visuals, videos, presentations, texts, reports, and more.

Hi! I’m a native English speaker and CELTA-qualified teacher, and I love helping people feel more comfortable and confident speaking English.

Before moving back to Geneva, I worked with NGOs in Greece supporting refugees and asylum seekers. As part of my work, I taught English to people from many different backgrounds and levels, as well as managing community programmes and volunteers. I really enjoyed the teaching side of my work — especially getting to know people individually and seeing their confidence grow.

That's why I prefer one-to-one lessons. I want our lessons to feel less like a traditional classroom and more like a relaxed conversation where you can practise, ask questions and learn at your own pace.

We can focus on whatever is most useful for you. Maybe you understand English quite well but find it difficult to speak. Maybe you need English for work, want to prepare for an interview, or simply want to feel more confident having conversations with English speakers. Or perhaps you just want someone to practise with regularly.

I'm friendly, patient and happy to adapt the lessons to you. Making mistakes is completely fine — that's how you learn! If you have a particular goal in mind, feel free to get in touch and tell me a little about what you'd like to improve.
