Graduated with a Diploma of Professional and Advanced Studies and a Master's degree in piano performance at the University of Montreal, I also obtained my Diploma of Musical Studies with A+ mention from the Jacques Thibaud Conservatory of Bordeaux in France. I have been working as a piano teacher for eight years now. I teach piano and music theory to all types of profiles, children, adolescents or adults ranging from a beginner to a professional level. During my musical journey, I tried to nourish my knowledge in the service of instrumental practice and pedagogy. During my lessons, we will cover subjects that are essential for me such as good position at the piano, flexibility of playing, stress management, bodily relaxation and of course, interpretation. My pedagogy is based heavily on this last point so that the student can stand out musically and find their own language while respecting a fair interpretation. I work every day to find a fun side to instrumental practice for the youngest while instilling in them the theoretical and technical bases they will need to develop their playing.

I provide private tutoring in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for secondary school students (grades 1-5), CEGEP students (Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Physics) and university students, with a teaching approach adapted to each level and the specific needs of each student. Let me introduce myself: my name is Yazid, and I'm currently a student in Aerospace Engineering at ÉTS Montréal. I also hold a joint degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from ENSEEIHT (Toulouse, France), specializing in Mechatronics. Before that, I completed an intensive program in mathematics and physics in France, which allowed me to develop a rigorous work ethic and gain admission to a top engineering school. It was during this training that I discovered my passion for teaching. I started helping my classmates when they were struggling with certain courses, and I quickly realized that pedagogy is a crucial skill. Tutoring is effective because, as a former student who faced the same challenges, I know exactly how to explain complex concepts and where students might encounter difficulties. I offer in-home tutoring, either at my place or yours. I also offer online tutoring using an interactive whiteboard to explain concepts visually and dynamically. This method has proven effective, and I am comfortable adapting to each student's specific needs. I am also very flexible with scheduling to accommodate your availability and requirements. Feel free to ask me questions about my methods or my teaching approach. I do everything I can to help my students progress, and it will be a real pleasure to guide you on your journey! If you have urgent requests (such as before an exam) or if you are looking for regular tutoring, please contact me! Music is fundamental to my being, and I believe that it is integral to the education of any person. We all have rhythm and sound as a core part of our body, from the heartbeat to the sound of breath, and formal training in music is only an expansion of what already exists in every person. The body of a musician requires as much detailed physical analysis and focus as that of an elite athlete; all of my lessons begin with physical warm-ups to support the specific musculature required in the development of each instrument. Joy and play are essential elements of successful learning at any age, and I make certain that students learn without a lot of undue stress and anxiety. Adult students can expect the same support and respect as the youngest child. Music brings joy to the soul.
