Passionate & empathetic teacher. I have a Master's in Physics with honors from the University of Leicester (which was featured at the time as a top 5 Physics university in the UK by The Guardian) and a - french - European School diploma in which I achieved 90% in Physics and 85% in Maths.

Helping others understand difficult topics and skills is something that I am very passionate about as an empathetic person. I have experience teaching Physics and Maths to kids from unprivileged backgrounds at the homework school in Saint-Gilles (CASG du Service Social Juif asbl) as well as 5 years of private teaching.

In my classes, I aim to:

- help students achieve better grades in exams/tests in all branches of Physics & Maths
- clearly explain and break down topics
- give context and or example applications of topics (to improve understanding and memorization)
- help with ADHD & other learning disabilities
- give practical advice for university applications (eg. UCAS in the UK) and discuss the exciting Physics research/work and projects you can work on later in life.

Physics has a plethora of useful and fascinating applications, from the detection of Gravitational Waves and Gamma-Ray Bursts to the development of novel Medical Imaging techniques and Nano-technology (eg: smartphones). It is a subject that I am very passionate about and I hope to make use of my years of experience and extensive knowledge to help you understand and love the subject! My lessons will always be tailored to the individual needs of the student, so please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions!

About Me

As a curious and creative individual there are 2 subjects I am truly passionate about. The first is music, which I have been nurturing since I was 8 years old. The second is Physics which I studied at university.

In music, I took drum lessons for 4 years followed by piano lessons for 3 years and music theory lessons for 2 years before I switched to bass guitar for 12 years (ongoing). In bass, I took additional private lessons, I played and toured with jazz ensembles, performed live music and composed originals with numerous bands in Belgium and the UK, went to music summer camps, payed for specific online bass courses, recorded a lot of originals in studios and joined the Brussels Royal Conservatory for 2 years. I am currently learning to sing and playing bass professionally with Kids of The Elephants in Brussels.

In Physics, I achieved 90% at the European School of Brussels II - as well as 85% in further Maths - and completed a Masters in Physics with First Class Honours at the University of Leicester in 2021. I have studied optional modules such as Astrophysics, General Relativity, Space Science, Programming and Medical Physics as well as standard modules such as Electricity & Magnetism, Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics and Special Relativity. For my Masters, I wrote a fun and fascinating literature review on Gamma-Ray Bursts and Gravitational Waves and I instigated my own Masters project in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques and Aorta Phantoms due to my interest in medicine.

I am also a very sociable and empathetic person. During my studies, most of my free time consisted of playing music with numerous bands in Leicester and in Brussels. I was equipment & events officer for a large Band & Gigs society featuring 70 active members and regularly collaborated with other music societies (choir, big band, orchestra..) around the university. I have also worked as a student ambassador for my university (talking to parents and their children about my Physics department) and occasionally like to go rollerblading.

I am a civil engineer in construction and during my career, I made a specialization in chemistry, physics.

I give lessons in everything related to science: math, physics, chemistry...
I have been teaching in Belgium and even in England since 2015.

Generally I ask the student to give me the material he wants to work on and the best thing is for him to prepare his questions so that we can move forward faster instead of being blocked and at the risk of reviewing parts that he has already understood. (Although I once had a class where I completely re-explained the teacher's syllabus.)

I also ask to become familiar with the material and nothing is better for that than doing a lot of exercises.

I like to explain mathematics both to students who have more difficulty conceptualizing its fundamental notions as well as to those who understand them more easily.

I strive to present mathematics in an intelligent and understandable way. Indeed, the clarity of explanations is one of the most important aspects to consider when teaching mathematics.

Mathematics and science subjects can weigh heavily on your study career during secondary education. It is therefore important to perform well on this. This can be a challenge for many students, especially in the third grade. In my lesson I try to explain the subject matter to students based on their own course, my old course and extra exercises. the EXMD, entrance exam for Medicine now passed in Competition is now slightly more complicated.

The subject of this exam is specific and requires a teaching of logic and not the simple recitation of courses learned by heart.

Indeed, it is professors of Medicine who create the questions of the competition and seek to make the student reason and reflect in order to classify him.

There are 4 science subjects:

-Mathematics

-Chemistry
-Biology

These four subjects are essential to master because they will follow you throughout your first two years of Bachelor.

And 4 non-scientific subjects:

Hi, I’m Ross, an analyst and policy advisor for the UK civil service, currently on a yearlong career break. I’ve been a maths tutor on and off since I was a university student.

I’m offering virtual tuition and I’m very flexible with which days for the week and time of day.

I have a BSc in Economics and A Level Mathematics and have experience as a teaching assistant at a Secondary School, supporting KS3 and GCSE students and specifically supporting neurodiverse students. I have been working in analysis, applying mathematics and economic skills for 8 years since graduating.
