About Me

My name is Leandro, I’m a 24-year-old jazz drummer from Italy. I graduated from the conservatory with a degree in Jazz Drums and I’m currently working as a teaching intern at the LUCA School of Arts (Conservatory of Leuven) in Belgium.
I started playing drums at a young age, drawn to rhythm and the expressive power of music. Teaching allows me to share my passion, help others grow musically, and guide students of all levels to develop their own musical identity.

I am Thijs (30) an experienced drummer and musician, with a wide range of musical interests. Studying jazz drums under the wings of Lander Gyselinck at the KASK/Conservatory in Ghent. In addition, I have followed masterclasses and lessons from/with Joey Baron (US), Kendrick Scott (US), Corey Fonville (US) and Stéphane Galland (BE). I am also active in various bands/groups.

My lessons, depending on the level, focus on both the fundamental building blocks of drumming and music as a whole. These building blocks together with the student's interests form the curriculum, so that it meets the student's wishes as best as possible. I also teach music theory/music theory. First of all, there is no level limit. I like teaching beginners, freshly bitten by the music bug, as much as I like teaching already established and experienced musicians thirsting for new perspectives on their playing, and a job of targeting points to work on.

Particularly, I've studied in deep Tony Williams' and Elvin Jones' playing, so if you really want to improve that kind of vision and sound I can give you some great hints such as transcriptions, analysis, sound strategies and many video materials.
